tldr: Needs to be a ported in number. GV works (create a new gmail account, pay google $3 to port out). People who dont care about the 12 months mint service can just discard the activation kit and treat this as a $289 unlocked phone.

Oh - I see it as a non-factor. Most are getting the deal (seemingly) for the good price on the phone. I don't even want the plan shipped with it, was able to flip it for $50 bucks.

I ordered around noon CT yesterday, got my tracking number this morning and it was handed off to FedEx at 1pm today

I believe if you get to the "confirmed" email stage you're good, not 100% positive though. It should show up on the order status soon hopefully.

It says: "Orders may take 24-48 hours to process, so now is a good time to practice patience. We'll shoot you an email with tracking info when your order ships" under the order email. So I'm guessing it takes a while.

2 years ago when I switched from AT&T to Mint; switched back to AT&T last year, the tracking # didn't work for me the whole time until it got delivered. You should try and contact them to be sure. Hell, AT&T took almost a week and a half to deliver the prepaid SIM.

edit: shipping status updated to page updated at ~28hr mark. Now shows "confirmed' and has a fedex tracking number.

Patience has always been a problem for me. I'm OK with waiting to get it, but I want to know FOR SURE that it (any it, not just this phone it) is coming.
