I bought this one a couple years ago, during the recent blizzard I ran it to keep my fridge, chest freezer, 2 computers, 3 cellphones and a few lights charged/on. Ran it for about 12 hours and the thing barely used a quarter tank of gas. Inverters are definitely the way to go.

Seems this is a good deal on an inverter set. Wish it was 240v capable for our well pump. I'm still using a 25 year old Generac 4'ish kw gasoline generator with Briggs motor. Noisy as hell, probably only has 15 hours on it, but still working like new. I put the receipt inside the cover of the power connection box in the garage-- paid over $700 for it at home depot. I wonder if the inverter electronics are made to last as long.

Inverter electronics wear out unless they are heavy duty like Honda. But this isn't much of an issue if the inverter is only used for light loads. We've found that a 240 volt conventional generator can be used sparingly to fill the tank and heat water while the inverter generator operates everything else. The pressure pump is also 220 V but the pressure tank yields some reserve with the power off. But your system may be different. Add up your 120 volt loads. You may find that one or two hand carry 2200 watt inverter generators are sufficient for your other essential loads. Fuel savings may cover the cost of an inverter in long outages. You may be able to retain your 240 V Generac and rely on it less by modifying your water storage and pumping system and or the transfer switch.

This with a full tank of gas gives you like 20KW hours. Hilarious you pay double this for a .8kwh ecoflow. The cost benefit to battery is just not there...
