If you would rather have a mature plant, Costco usually has 7-10' tall FLF for $29 in the summer. These grow fast in direct (DIRECT) sun. Indoors, even with grow lights, growth is very slow. I have 3 large ones and put them outside from May to October. Went from 5' to 9' in that time last summer. Under multiple grow lights in the house they put out maybe one leaf a month.

Despite their reputation they aren't particularly tricky plants, but 99% of people give them way too little light.

I bought one of these last week and when it arrived my wife reminded me plants need to be non toxic to our animals... nope, definitely not safe for pets! Whoops!

I bought one for my wife and it arrived a few days ago. Very healthy, full plant. I also bought the bigger one from Costco which is a little more sparse.

It's not just Amazon. Pests are common from nursery and other sources. I isolate new plants, watch for any hitchhikers, spray wash vigorously couple times an week, and use neem/soap mix and sometimes other stuff. Shame these cannot come to California.

So when people criticize the law as being stupid and pointless, it's because the reality is the law is stupid and pointless.

I have been buying plants for myself and family for 30 years. Never had this issue with indoor plants. The number of bugs that have invaded my home from that one shipment is insane.
