They would not honor their 1 year warranty based off the fact that I received the items as gift, wanted me to go back to person who gifted it and ask them for their credit card statement and receipt. Product had a manufacturer date of under 1 year so it fell well within their warranty period.
So I will steer everyone away from them when their brand comes up.

I will be staying away from this one.

Well it isn't as bad as what Zinus made me do. I have one of their bed frames. I wanted to move it into another room. Problem is that the screws seem to be made for a one time use. They would not go back into the frame a second time and I was still under their warranty period. I did not strip these as they screwed in without any force. While this was junk at this point even with my receipt they wanted me to donate them to charity and send them a copy of the receipt. I was shot down at one Goodwill but the other one took it.
Never doing business with them again. This was absurd so they could lie to the government and use it as a tax write off.
You get a much smaller amount of actual coffee at a much higher price. Plus all the environmental impact of single use plastics.

TL;DR:
A: Convenience.
-----------------------------------------------------
I won't pay for a Nespresso pod machine as their pods are much higher in cost. But I would like to try them if they ever become competitive (they won't).
I can usually get K-cups for $0.20 - $0.25 each with deals here. Not always the Solimo or other generics either.
I use a 12-cup drip machine with pre-ground as my other main go-to. Cheap and mass quantity.
I have a French press, an Aerobee, a cheap Espresso machine, & a conical burr grinder.
K-cup coffee is easier for me in warmer months or when I have a big surplus of them to use up, and I like to get 20 oz of coffee out of one K-cup. Hate and groan if you want, but I drink 2 x 20-oz. mugs every morning. I would not mind it being stronger, but it is not too weak for me to enjoy. I also do not need double the caffeine, and decaf is not as tasty.
$0.10 per 20 oz. mug of coffee is a decent value.
Taste variations in brands or styles don't convince me to hate K-cups as I add creamer and sweeten my coffee. I just cannot spend "coffee snob" money, but love the convenience of K-cups and drip pots most.
When I make drip, I use half a cup of ground per 12-cup pot. So stronger. It is cheap and I can use my pre-ground coffee to make iced coffee in warm months.
In summation, we all have our preferences and we can change them up if we want to, but K-cups aren't going away.
