I know the screen isn't great, but I was wow'd by a 4070 laptop from a decent manufacturer sold by Costco at this price. I couldn't find any deeper specs but if anyone finds them, please post in the comments.

Not sure if the Amazon version is worth the upgrade fopr $200 more - may be if you have the Amazon CC with 5% off making it $120 more for 13th gen processor and DDR5 memory.

However since these are pretty much MSRP - I'd expect to be able to catch the Costco model on sale maybe sometime in the next 1-3 months at a few hundred off maybe?

Agree with OP, but also consider a 3070ti since on gpu side they are pretty similar power wise, but power use wise the 4070 is more efficient.

What's the TGP of the GPU? All I can find is that it comes with a 200W AC power adaptor, so probably its just a 95W RTX4070?

people are arguing if it's driver a bugg or not but it seems nearly all of the 4070's are using 100wats or less regardless of what the laptop power limit is. And without dlss and frame generation and whatever, are getting soundly beaten by any full power 3070ti.
