Product Name: | GIGABYTE 34" 144Hz IPS UWQHD KVM Gaming Monitor 1ms AMD FreeSync Premium, 3440 x 1440, 91% DCI-P3, HDR Ready, 1x Display Port 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB Type-C, M34WQ |
Product Description: | Pros: Great specs for an IPS, large screen size, good viewing angles. Cons: Now on monitor #3 through the RMA process and all of them so far have multiple dead and stuck pixels scattered within the central viewing area of the screen. Overall Review: It's a nice screen, but it is pretty frustrating to pay this much for a product and have it arrive with so many dead pixels out of the box. I have gone through the RMA process for 3 of these now; we will see if I have the patience to go much further if the 4th arrives with more dead pixels in the center of the screen. |

In order to seamlessly switch from one computer to another using the KVM button, the computer you are switching to must be on (I.e not in sleep mode).
If you try to wake up the other computer that is in sleep mode by pressing the KVM button, it will just keep switching back to the already on computer.
Since I have my main gaming laptop always on sleep when not in use, i instead use a separate external usb switch that I connect my mouse/keyboard to both computers, push the button on the external usb switch to switch the mouse/keyboard between computers, and press the KVM button afterwards on the monitor to then switch the display over. I use the two usb ports on the monitor for usb speakers and webcam.
The other note is that the KVM button location is awful. It is located behind the panel in a way that it is difficult to reach if the right side of your monitor is up against a wall or another monitor.

I have the m27q and agree on all points here. I'm upgrading to the m32u specifically becuase of the KVM though, because it is so helpful.
One thing to note, is that if you can install osd sidekick on both machines, you can hotkey the KVM cutover without having to reach that stupid ass KVM placement
I love my 27 inch version. KVM buit in takes tweaking, but it's great
