I have purchased 5 of these, with three being refurbished through woot, one refurbished through the manufacturer and one new and all have performed and looked identical and new. I've had them for around 2-3 years now and all are still performing well without any issues.

the sensor will kick on for bad smells and you can feel free to test it alone or with your friends & family by farting directly on it and have the light change as it goes from stable blue light to panicked red.
one piece of advice is when using replacement filters it's not clear how to reset the monitor for the app - it's a small pin hole on the button panel on the right you can access with a sharp object like a sim ejector and press for 5 seconds when it's powered off but plugged in.
The one I got from Costco was covered under a 2-year warranty, and they sent me a brand new replacement unit. The other 2 that were refurbished Woot units only had 1 year warranty, and the manufacturer refused to replace those.
Yeah, the filters operated very quietly when I bought them, but if you have them running 24/7, just know that after 2-3 years, the motors will start making noises.

i think this is more important:
You must be a current ComEd residential delivery service customer.
2. Appliance must be purchased by December 31, 2023.
3. Application must be submitted within 60 days from purchase date or by February 29, 2024, whichever comes first.
4. Each ComEd residential service customer is limited to six air purifiers, dehumidifiers, ventilation fans and water dispensers.
5. Appliance must be ENERGY STAR certified and meet the above stated requirements to qualify for a rebate. This excludes induction cooktops.
6. ENERGY STAR certified appliances must be new and purchased in Illinois, or the buyer must demonstrate having paid the applicable Illinois
sales and use tax.
7. The rebate paid will not exceed the purchase price (excluding taxes, shipping and installation charges) of the appliance.
8. Rebate eligibility requirements are subject to change without notice, including early termination of this promotion.
I dont think it's costco specific, yet #6 specifys it must be purchased new. I don't think refurbished is considered new and YMMV with the rebate.
I wanted to buy all 6 and basically get the $10 each, not going to take a chance though.
