If you pre-order from Best Buy for store-pickup, Best Buy likes to slap stickers on their items so watch out.

Looks great, but this hardware really needs a processor/GPU upgrade.

Because it's the only Zelda-themed LE switch and Zelda stuff brings good money. If it's legitimately limited, it'll fetch a decent price.
This system is quite far from being "limited".

The Zelda model is literally the same specs as the currently available OLED models, right?

Wii u to switch was a huge jump and format change. The next gen device is definitely going to end up being the gamecube release until the gen after that. I don't see the need to jump to the next device for a couple years after they release. Honestly they should just go Switch Pro this round and squeek out a few more years until PS6 and whatever M$ does comes out.

Yes. Paying for collectability and paint.

I know this will be a collectible and probably fetch north of $500 some day but man, I echo the sentiment that this hardware is really aging. It was slow in 2017 and even slower today. I really hope we see a revision to the hardware soon, when in reality the tegra chip inside is from late 2015…
And only reason why I'm not buying it. Because the next revision will definitely have a Zelda game as well and will definitely release a version with Zelda design as well. The 3ds had it. The Wii nunchucks. The WiiU game pad. So on. Heck even the new Game n Watch stuff had Zelda version. I think buying this and keeping it sealed/new will keep a high value, but I think I once used, it will be in the sub $200 price. They know how to make money. This is probably them doing a last ditch effort to get more money for the next Nintendo console production.

Nintendo realized its fans will pay $70 for Zelda or $60 for buggy Pokemon games and not care at all. Probably inspired by all of these peeps that bought Cyberpunk 2077 without waiting for the reviews / 2 weeks after launch. They're going to nickel and dime because people will buy it regardless, literally the Apple of gaming.
One thing I've noticed through out the decades I've been a gamer, the more publicity a game has before reviews and launch, the publisher/developer spent that much funding on the ads and paying people to promote it and less focus on releasing a game that is good out of the box. Recent ones that come in mind, besides the Pokémon games, is Forspoken. It reminded me of how much publicity Watchdog had prior to release. Very similar situation. Just my 2 cents.

I agree. Too many stores have this. As I mentioned, this is their last ditch effort to get money from an old system and so they can put that money for the new console production.

The fact that this is still available from every store that has preorders says a lot about either
a) the production numbers are quite high
b) the interest is not there (most people probably already have an oled switch and do not want to pay almost $400 after tax for a different paint job)

or both a and b
seems like this was supposed to come out last year but the game got delayed. so they delayed the switch too. and i guess at the time, they produced alot more.

Here's the halo infinite xbox series x halo special edition console which included the halo infinite game.

Don't be a clown:

It says out of stock and obviously this was when it released in Nov 2021

🤡 status
that console if i remember correctly MSRP at $550. $50 more than regular series x. so it was sold at a premium.

Going to use my jailbroken gen 1 switch to rip the Zelda files and play Tears at 4K 60 fps on the emulator. 🫶🏻

Who cares? The Switch is on its way to being the best selling console in history. Not this generation, history. So clearly people have decided that they don't give a rip about graphical prowess, and instead just want good games to play.

The GameCube was the most powerful console of its time. How'd that work out? Or how about the Xbox? Or the Dreamcast?

Nothing grinds my gears more than the "mUh GrApHicS" people. Most people don't know or care that their games run in 4k with a trillion polygons. Most people just want fun games, and Nintendo is the master of delivering that experience.
There's nothing wrong with critiquing graphics and processing power. I myself noticed several significant frame rate drops when playing Breath of the Wild and Pokemon. It's definitely noticeable, and there's nothing wrong with "Hey, the hardware may need to be upgraded" or "Maybe next generation they need to consider really bringing the processing power up to par". In my opinion, it's not the graphics per say as the games are pretty cartoon-ish, but when I'm dipping under 30 fps, that's a problem, and one worth bringing up. It doesn't matter how much a game sells or how incredible it is -- it's never free from criticism.
