Also, I have (2) klipsch RP-450C center channels and NOW for only $259, I challange anyone to find any other Center that will sound half as good for only $259! Yes, the Rp-450c is that good! If you thought voices sounded good prior, wait until you hear what a mans voice sounds like on the 450c! It's one of the few centers that can go low enough to properly replicate a mans deeper voice with extreme precision, crazy real. I won't even go into female voices as that is a cake walk for this center w/ it's high quality horn. Keep in mind this has (4) larger drivers and is vented for lower Freq(HZ) extension thus it's pretty large, make sure you have the space for it, otherwise, you will NOT be disappointed in either of these two fantastic units! If you need black color, just buy some wood grain vinyl wrap on Amazon for $5 and all good....
That being said, most will love them and with some basic EQ or DSP you can level them out. I still stand behind that NOTHING can touch these for overall AQ for less then $190. Nothing! Throw in some EQ or DSP and then really nothing can touch them at this $190. They are monsters out of the box for HT, they are very very good for music but purists will want to "tone" them down or go for a non-horn monitors for $1500+...

Two completely different HT setups..... So, I thought I had a real good center years ago and I did but once I got my first RP-450c, I just did not think it could do that much better for that small of a price. Wow, was I wrong. The 450c is hands down the best center you can get under $500, no questions asked, the next best thing would be the 504 I and that is 95% the same unit.....
I'm not saying there's a clear winner, but it's an option.
I have been looking at triangle bore BR08s but they are expensive.

For home theater it's fine to be more colorful, but for music you really have to think a bit harder.
6.5" cone does not guarantee better bass.
The Elac 5.2 has as much bass as this model or even the 600m. Ontop of WAY LOWER DISTORTION.

I don't recommend towers for any purpose under any circumstance. Bookshelves + dual Subs is the way to go.
Tower gives at most 5-10hz extension below the bookshelf, which is USELESS and still takes up the same space while costing more. they're also not so neutral because of the extra crossover, most of the time that crossover is also cheap and inadequate.
A tower is like a bookshelf + a tiny 8 inch sub. You might as well get bookshelves + 2x 12" subs for way less than the cost of towers. The sum of which will give you much more volume, and better bass extension.
