Hello All, I recently just noticed my credit card apr went from 11.99 % to 16.74 % gradually over the course of a year. I contacted discover via chat to ask why, ( I obviously know why) but I wanted to see what they would say and if there was any promotions they can offer. 2 years ago I caught this promotion 0% apr for 12 months. I didn't think they would be able to do this again, but they did. this is actually pretty good in my eyes. This is something that you have to chat with them and ask for. I have the basic discover it card and have been with them since 2018 and use this as my main card. Thought it would be good to share. Thanks for reading.

I don't know if you guys need to actually chat or call or message them. I just logged into my account and clicked on Card Services > Balance transfer and saw the offer there.

https://card.discover.com/cardmem...=btsavings

My offer was only for 10 months though. Note the 5% extra fee.
Or I could go with 12 months with 3.99% + 5% fee.

[Screenshot attached]

Anyone know if you chat/call/message, that you get a better offer?
Ahh i did get same one but for 14months

edit: this was for a balance transfer tho so i think its different

5% fee is not a deal at all. I had 0% with 2% fee for 12 months in November. OK, I know fed rate raised several times since November, but I can still get 0% with 3% fee for 15 months from Citi earlier this month.

(Also yeah, my APR went from 10.99 to 16.74% in such a short time, a matter of months. Crazy and sad...)

Okay, yeah maybe a balance transfer offer is different. So I did message, and found out that's basically live chat Smilie The representative was able to give me 0% apr for a year on future purchases. Doesn't apply to any current balance. I'll add a few more screenshots of the details I got in chat.

If you use this card for any of it's cashback categories this is the worst choice you could make. Typically any payment you make is applied to the debt first before any new purchases so it will continue to charge interest till full payment is made. If you decide to take the 0% offer (and in some situations it's useful) then toss the card in a drawer and forget about it till it's paid off.
I mean if randy rando carries a balance, which isn't advised, 0% > 20%

Meh, this is for balance transfers not new purchases. Pass.
This is for new purchases.

Few of the above comments here are misleading. I was able to request 0% APR and did confirm with customer service about this offer being different than the balance transfer (that shows up in everyone's mail / offers page).
