Hello All, I recently just noticed my credit card apr went from 11.99 % to 16.74 % gradually over the course of a year. I contacted discover via chat to ask why, ( I obviously know why) but I wanted to see what they would say and if there was any promotions they can offer. 2 years ago I caught this promotion 0% apr for 12 months. I didn't think they would be able to do this again, but they did. this is actually pretty good in my eyes. This is something that you have to chat with them and ask for. I have the basic discover it card and have been with them since 2018 and use this as my main card. Thought it would be good to share. Thanks for reading.

I dunno. I have actually had this card for 20+ years. Got it when I was in college so no idea what I provided for income, but they have regularly increased my limit. I have excellent credit too btw

That's how it works with most CCs but I don't think that's true with Discover. Because if that was the case then you would be able to pay off new purchases since they would have a higher APR than your BT balance.

That bad huh. The problem is people in 2023 will still feel stupid purchasing anything that is not back to original pricing ( deflated). Unless they really MUST buy it. Learning how to be content with what you already have and partial stop to purchasing.

Last time I touched my discover card was when Amazon tagged along with that discover cashback promotion.

Same here, at 1st they threw the below, and then when I said can u make it ZERO percent, it was a GO!

Your standard purchase APR for new purchases you make will be effective two days from today. It will be calculated at Prime + 10.99% which equals 18.74% variable, and will be reflected on your 04/19/23 billing statement. This change will not affect the APR on your existing balance.

This is a great post. Just be careful to watch where your payment goes towards. It may go towards the lower apr balance before the higher one.

I live off of 0% offers. I put all my purchases on a 0% card and pocket the money I would normally pay to the credit card in a savings account, and nows a good time with a lot of 5% savings accounts out there. When 12+ months is up you have a nice fat savings to pay it off and you get to keep the interest. I know it may not seem like much but every bit counts.

Wow - glad to see this offer again. Many years ago, I took the same offer (0% and no fee on new purchases) and bought a new car while I really needed a car to drive across the country to take a contract job after being laid off for a while. Because I was paying cash (a cash advance check from Discover), I was able to negotiate a good deal at the car dealership.
