For anyone wanting to go super serious about this game. Go with the Hori drums. Hori tends to be the go-to for quality peripherals, often times making them for the 1st party.
In my personal experience all Hori items have been too notch. Worth the import tax (price vs American options).

I imagine if you can get the drums cheaper in Japan but plan on bringing them back then the added price for getting them right now will probably offset anything that you'd have to pay in shipping or luggage fees from Japan.
