Better deal than the $200 Easystore external at Best Buy today.

Yeah it's $5 more, but you don't have to shuck it and do the pin mod.

dang, it looks like its sold out at bestbuy.

looks like the current findings for 14tb is:
$200 - easy store - 2yr warranty
$205 - red plus - 3yr warranty
$210 - red pro - 5yr warranty.

If other sellers will do the red plus for 210, thats the best deal. The extra 3yr warranty is well worth the extra $10

Ya worth $5 more to save time and not deal with unshucking later if a warranty issue arises.

Great drives. Quieter than just about anything else. I have 14s and 8s in this line and the 14 are easier on the ears.

to me, the shucking and pin mod / tape covering is not the main factor. that's only a few minutes of my time. and NAS systems don't require any pin mod.

the real gain is the 3 year warranty here. so, that's what makes it worth it for just the extra $5.

If you need 2, it's cheaper from newegg.

Decent, but everyone has same price, so tells me this is the new price. Will just wait for the real sale later.

Good find. All other things being equal, this seems like a better buy.

Get a better case if the noise bothers you

i had an nzxt h510, with a wd black in there. Was obnoxiously noisy. I switched to a fractal torrent and cant hear a thing.

I've got a mix of WD Golds, Red Pro's, Whites, and Seagate X18's in my media server in a fractal define 7....cant hear any of the drives when they spin up.

All of the discussions I saw about the Pro being louder were comparing it with 5400 RPM Reds, but both of these drives are 7200. Can anyone confirm that the Pro 7200 is actually louder than the Plus 7200?

I've been fortunate enough not to need the pin mod. Who has to do that?
