This is actually made by Frigidaire. Whirlpool is long done with making appliances for them.

We had the Frigidaire equivalent of this in our apartment. Thing was definitely abused by us living there. Sometimes people would forget to scrap all the food, plastic items melted on the heating rod a few times. We used the cheap great value powder in it. Everything came out pretty clean without prerinse using the heavy setting, hi temp rinse, heat dry. We would stack and angle plates around whatever open space we found so as long as it was angled down with some space for the jets it washed. It was somewhat noisy for sure (like a dryer running without any clothes in it). Drying wise it did good with heat dry on. Got all glass items dry even though it was a plastic tub. Plastic items would be drenched with water though. We never used any jet dry. Only vinegar. The fact that it was running after we left with 4 roommates and the way it was treated really made me inclined to put this in our new home. Did a lot of research and ended up putting in an LG

For the price though this can't be beat. It's not the best of the best but it will do a better job cleaning than any other GE, Whirlpool equivalent in this price range that I've came across or seen at the showrooms.

Best part of it all is I believe all Ikea appliances have a 5 year warranty so it's a no brainer at this price

Also the black stainless version of these are also in AsIs for 70% off. We couldn't find the regular one on sale at the time when we were building our home

I don't think they are all built the same. My sister's nice Bosch dishwasher cleans much better than my cheap renter's dishwasher. Their unit clean any dishes, bowls, utensils as long as they fit in the unit. Mine only clean well when I place the dishes and bowls in specific order and orientation, or they won't be clean thoroughly.

Ikea dish washer is mostly made by Whirlpool for cheaper price. You can always stack with the ikea coupon

Ikea appliances are still made by Whirlpool. If you pull the warranty information from their site : https://www.ikea.com/us/en/files/...r_na-1.pdf
You'll see they even state that the warranty is through Whirlpool...
They used to be, but they aren't any longer and haven't been for a year or two. That info is applicable to the old appliances.

My Ikea had them both and was going to buy stainless steel. Then I saw black stainless steel match with my other appliances better (they are black) and somehow the washing menu looks like a bit different. So, I went with the black stainless steel one. There was only one left each. My store was advertising black stainless steel one but the silver one price tag was still $699.

Just FYI since it didn't carry over from my original post - both dishwashers are older (I assume previous year or different manufacturer) models, and thus different item numbers from ones likely displayed in store. Likely minimal difference in the actual dishwashers, but different item numbers.
Item numbers to ask for in-store:
Stainless - 004.621.71
Black Stainless- 804.655.85

If you search just for Essentiell on the IKEA website it won't display these item numbers, it'll pull up the more expensive ones.

Get this or repair the 7 yr old LG LDS5540ST for 200? The sump assembly needs replacement.

Should I get this or the Costco deal
If we're talking about the one from Feb Whirlpool 55 dBA Fingerprint Resistant Quiet Dishwasher with Boost Cycle Item # 1712913 for $... - I've had this for a month and I can't get it to wash without leaving clouds on everything.

I've never had a dishwasher do it right but just looking at the IKEA features, it beats out this Whirlpool one by a lot. For $299 - I'm skeptical but I definitely don't like this costco one.

How is the IKEA one only $299 REGULAR PRICE? The conversation makes it seem like a sale. Am I missing something?

I didn't see Whirlpool mentioned on the specific document for the dishwasher linked in this post.I did find this that indicates Electrolux/Fridgidaire as the current manufacturer:

Did anyone else buy this? Wondering if anyone else thought the top mounting bracket was too long or didn't quite line up with their counters.

I'm wondering if it has the side mounting brackets as I can't screw into my countertops, I thought the side screws were pretty standard. The manual talks about lag screws into the floor which seems like a pain in this type of install.

I bought had to use side mounting brackets purchased from Amazon. The unit is a rebadged Frigidaire.

I think it's the same as this model but I don't think the ikea version has the led floor lighting.

I added a ton of insulation. The drain hose is long. I'm not sure it's any better than the 16 y/o ge profile it replaced. Not overly impressed so far but love the price and warranty...

This thing is junk. Buttons are so cheap they barely work and have to press multiple times.
