Wow. way to overvalue your own products. An ancient Samsung S10 which I dug out of a drawer months ago & sold for a bag of peanuts has a trade-in value of $190 but an Apple 12mini is only valued @ $185? LOL. yeah okay. remember to pass after you finish puffing on it...
Don't be mad they're offering more for customer loyalty because you got a crAPPLE lol
Google Fi had a S23 deal at launch for $300 for the 256GB version with 120 days service. Now they only have crappy deals with 24 month bill credits. I'm sure the deals will come back at some point. If not, I'll just hold on to my S22 and S22 Ultra and maybe just skip the S23 series. Perfectly happy with the phones. Got the the S22 256GB and S22 Ultra 256GB (both unlocked) for about $250 out of pocket each.
Google Fi data is too expensive and the S23 has a small battery and small 6.1" screen. Those are big cons for me if I was going to be spending that amount of bucks with a phone and the 120 days. I thought about the plus but that was $499 deal plus the required months. Not worth it for my use. Google Fi deals could be really good and I have gotten a couple great deals in the past with trade-ins but they are hoops to jump through and compromises with its plan.

Nobody wants an apple 12 mini that lasts half a day per charge. It was a big fail. Just being honest. A 5.4" screen is unusable. A 2,227 mAh battery with 4 year wear is laughable.

Only because they allowed a $200 credit for an A51 5G, I decided to snag one for a family member. Here's hoping that the trade-in process isn't a royal pain...
Thanks OP.
I've done multiple trades with samsung. They've been really good so far.
Not true at all. I have the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G (2020) and it still runs very fast and snappy. The Samsung Galaxy a53 5g has a 4.3 out of 5 star rating on Amazon (3,417 reviews) and it also has 4.3 out of 5 star rating on best buy. It is silly to assume that everybody needs a powerful BATTERY DRAINING processor. For regular users especially users who don't do any demanding gaming, the extra cost isn't worth it. You also need to remember this phone has a 6.4" screen. The regular Samsung Galaxy S22 has a smaller 6.1" screen and small 3,700 mAh battery so one needs to get the plus model and that costs lot more. I am currently using a pixel 6a with 6.1" screen and I definitely miss the large screen. I like the 6a phone because I think it has plenty of pros but my old Samsung had its pros too. Samsung performance was solid and it definitely wasn't a con.
* I am no rush to get rid of my Pixel 6a but if I do upgrade in the future, the Samsung Galaxy a55 (later gen) would be among my top 3 choices with maybe Pixel 8a (if they increase the screen size) or Motorola phone.
Honestly, if your buying to use as a primary phone you might as well avoid it. Better to get a used last gen flagship with better internals. Exynos processors are not known to be good and will likely come with a Shannon 5G modem which defiantly don't preform as well as a Qualcomm modems with the exception being the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active which still has an incredible record of RF performance to this day.
Refurbished GS20 or Note are sold at Amazon. They are better than these.
S20 likely got it's last major update earlier this year, and will get less than a year of security updates if purchased today. A54 will get four major OS updates (up to Android 17) and security patches afterwards. S20 is a good phone, my family member has one, but I would take a new A54 over refurb S20 any day.

Not even close. Used is used. Refurbished is a fancy term. Wear and tear is real on the screen, speakers and battery especially if it is approaching nearly 3 years. I would never buy a used/"refurbished" especially for a few hundred dollars. If one says that it charges over 80%, it doesn't mean that it holds charge like a new battery. Plus people gotta think about security and system updates AND also warranty. Performance is similar and you also get microsd support with the A54.
People really want new phones with longer support and warranty. People are also under the impression that
Haha. You must have lived under a rock and missed all the popular samsung galaxy a71 5g deals on slickdeals. Are you aware of the t-mobile samsung galaxy a71 5g deal that brought the out of pocket cost to around like $175 for me with an highly overvalued old broken iphone tradein?

Let me guess. You never heard of the popular unlocked moto z2 force $99 deals and think they are costing $720 launch price.
