You can certainly have your own preference, but I'd highly recommend the 515 over the 315, given it's only $50 more and there is a big advantage of having the taillight integrated. The 515 (for those that don't know) will flash based upon the approach of a vehicle. So, if you have a car coming from behind at 15 mph + faster than your speed, for ex, the RTL 515 will start a "frantic" high lumen flash that is better at getting the attention of approaching drivers.

The above said, I'd highly recommend the 515 over the 315, esp when you can get the 515 at $150.
It picks the cars up pretty far in advance, you'll use much more of the road with this. When it alerts you, you slide over
Same price at REI as well if you want the member dividend . Purchase this a few days ago and they were kind enough to price adjust

For those that use Strava when riding have you moved away from Strava to Garmin app or stay in Strava and use alerts?

Not sure which alerts you're referring to, but I record with my Wahoo bike computer or my Garmin Forerunner watch and it gets uploaded to Strava.

I only use Strava on my phone when I don't have my bike computer or Garmin watch on me.

Waiting for a better sale on the Edge 530 or similar now
I got a renewed Edge 530 from Amazon for $200 which was $100 less than the cost of a new one at the time (I think the prices changed recently with the release of the 540 so you might find a better deal now). The renewed one was indistinguishable from new other than the non-standard box it arrived in. I also got a Varia 515 and after only 100 miles or so of riding with rear facing radar I can confidently say I will never choose to ride without it.

I am curious, once you know that "moving object is coming up behind" you what are you supposed to do? What do you do yourself?
I don't have this gadget, but I still know that car is coming due to engine, tire noise and, in case of doubt, a quick look over my shoulder, and I just try to keep straight and let it pass, On some bikes I have rear view mirror, but i find it more annoying then helpful.
Hmm, looks like this marketing botfarm does not know what to answer to your obvious observation and simple question.

Which Bike computer is compatible with the RTL515 and are the Garmin Computers worth it? I am installing on an eBike for 80 Mile Rides with average speed of 25mph with top speed of 32mph.

Should probably check on the Garmin website, but in addition to most Garmin ones, I think all Wahoo ones are compatible to an extent too.

I bought two. Works excellent with Garmin Edge 1030 Plus and Fenix 6X Sapphire. Highly recommend!

I've read that the magene L508 version is comparable to this garmin. Also just discovered another generic brand that's on sale for $80. I'm curious to give it a try for almost half the price: TUTULO V100
