No, the speed is not below the requirement. It's below the recommendation. How do so many people not know the difference between "recommended" and "required?" Any Gen4 will work. The speed doesn't matter, because not one single game uses the 5,500mb/s that Sony recommends. That's not going to happen with this generation, because once again, Sony and Microsoft exaggerated what this generation is going to be capable of. My secondary SSD is only 3,600 and it loads and plays everything just as fast as the stock one. Digital Foundry even tested one with a speed of 3,200 and it was just as fast. The only thing that will happen is the PS5 will tell you that it might not be fast enough. That's it. It still works perfectly fine. Here's the Digital Foundry video. https://youtu.be/zWQs4UpiKlg

Yes. Absolutely. Any Gen4 M.2 will work. The speed doesn't matter. Sony recommends (but does not require) a speed of 5,500, but you can read my other comment just above this one, regarding that. There's also a video of Digital Foundry testing one with a speed of 3,200 and it's just as fast.

Bullshit. Digital Foundry tested one with a 3,200 speed and it was just as fast. Mine is only 3,600 and works flawlessly. I've had it for a year and it's just as fast. Not one single game uses that 5,500mb/s. https://youtu.be/zWQs4UpiKlg

Hello, just recently bought my first budget gaming laptop. Got it from an auction site for $311, its a Nitro AN515-55-53E5. Upgraded ram to 2x16gb ddr4 and I've been researching upgrading the hard drive (it's only like 256 sdd.) I'm new to this and very confused, there seems to be multiple ssd spots and 1 hdd? I'm having a hard time finding out the restrictions/requirements and essentially not sure which order to upgrade the drives. Also is this ssd a viable replacement? It appears to match but i wasn't sure about the speeds needed. Sorry for the long drawn out question, I appreciate any help.

Which auction site? And was it new? Would you spell the name (spread out in case it is banned for some reason). Would appreciate. Thnx
