That air conditioner is gonna be a sweet deal. It may be only 8,000 BTU but it's a dual hose which makes it a great price. I've been keeping my eye on AC's for a long while now. I actually got that one specifically from Costco over the weekend and paid $473 for it. Gonna request a price difference when the sale starts.

Not really any reviews yet on this and I haven't taken mine out of the box yet since it's not yet the season but I've had different Hisense products throughout the many years and never had an issue before.

I recommend to anyone that doesn't know much about the different between single and dual hose and wants to learn, go watch Technology Connections video on Youtube about portable air conditioners. Very interesting and informative.

They used to be $49.99 on sale for $39.99, but that was for a pack of 6. Now, it's a pack of 8 and a better deal because the unit price is $6.25/brush head compared to $6.67/brush head for the old 6-pack.

Seems like the sales for 2023 are finally getting better, last year to 1.5 have been pretty bad IMO

I noticed this does heating. Anyone have experience with this? Living in the north east I might snag one or two to heat a 550 sqft space. This is going to be way more energy efficient than a regular space heater.
how will it be more energy efficient than a space heater?
is it a heat pump? (then yes, more efficient)
or it's still converting electricity directly to heat? (then no)

We bought this unit (or similar) 3 or so years ago and it just died in the last month. It had no problems keeping our ~400sqft bed room at 65 in the GA summer while we slept.

Decided to replace it with the Midea 12k Inverter dual hose unit before I knew about this sale. I have a 10k u-shaped window unit in my office that I love and heavily swayed my decision.
Which do you prefer? the midea dual hose portable air conditioner or the u-shaped window unit? I'm leaning towards going the portable route since installation seems easier and I'll also be installing it upstairs so it seems more ideal.

The documentation on this particular model is pretty lack luster. If I were to guess there is no resistive element to the heating mode in this unit. It has a ceer 7 ish but that is combined number for cooling -- I can't find the specifications for heating.

Yeah…… I found a sweet 12k btu with a remote on Craigslist for $25 and got 6 maybe 7yrs out of it. I stopped buying new also there easy to clean too. Oh that Hisense yur talking about u wasn't comfortable with the remote so when the summer was over Costco got it back.

I have a space that is about 700 square feet... Tall ceiling too. Full sun on one wall 3/4 of the day.

Should I buy two of these or one single larger unit?

The central HVAC simply cannot keep this room cool with the thermostat on the other end of the house.

I realize this is a bandaid but, not springing for a new HVAC and don't really want to do a split.

Thoughts?

More info about the portable air conditioner. What I don't get is that it says that it is suitable for rooms 550 square foot or less. On a lot of BTU charts 8000 BTU is typically for rooms around 300 to 350 square foot. Can 8000 BTU really be suitable for 550 square foot rooms?

Agree. I belong to Costco and Sam's. I live about 75 miles from both. I can see almost every item Sam's carries online and in store, and being a Plus member, I can have it shipped to my home at the same price it costs in the stores, most of the time. Some items, not many, will be just a little higher in price. Costco will always have higher prices online, to help pay shipping costs, than in stores, most of the time. Costco does not show prices of most items online and most items, unless it's a big ticket item, always says shipping unavailable to my zip code. Costco's return policy is great but I have never had a problem returning anything back to Sam's. The Sam's membership saves me much more money because of the shipping. I use Costco's Visa card to get cash back on all purchases.
It would be nice if the executive membership came with an extra perk of free shipping without the inflated price. They would convert a lot of people.

Yea, the nearly free install would have been nice. It's good that their sales are predictable. I was torn between getting the same CrossClimate2s I have on my other car or the Bridgestone Weatherpeaks. With the exception of the hit in mileage I do like the CrossClimate2s, so I'd rather go with something familiar.

I've looked around for a while (BJs, Walmart, Townfair Tire, Tirerack, etc). I've had great luck with all, but Costco is so easy to deal with. I had a dead battery and they didn't ask any questions. They actually didn't have the battery I needed and gave me a full refund.
I bought Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus at Sam's for $30 less than the Michelin CrossClimates. Several people recommended them to me. Haven't tested them in the snow. Excellent ride, low noise, fantastic traction. They're the best tires I've ever put on my vehicles and I don't buy cheap tires.

Its Costco, just buy it, if you dont like it return it. Taste is so subjective I doubt you can find useful info here.
