Where I want to mount it, the solar panel will only get morning sun. Is that going to be enough to keep the battery charged?
Answer:
Depends on the climate as well. I have a solar panel and in the winter it can't keep up, not even close. I run two batteries with spares. When it's -18 outside, no battery would be able to stay charged with a 4 watt panel.

...but the solar panel 4W (second gen) is 50% discounted, guess it's worth it if you have sunlight
