Come on. Do not add pre-conditions to earn more. We are talking about no pre-conditions to earn 2% cash back on everything purchase and you just can't find the card to earn more. If you like conditions such as annual fee, member to open a bank account etc, that is a different thing. People may not like those conditions.

Should have some self respect and read up on this company to get $200 and close the account. Place is scum, cheat people and are racist. Place has a pile of lawsuits against them.
I have a "Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa", if I sign up with this card will i still be able to get the bonus? Looks like they don't even offer the "Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa" to new customers anymore.
This trick ONLY works if the card you trying to do the balance transfer is a VISA credit card and you need to be a costco member/know someone that has a member. It requires a purchase.
So with costco return system, if you buy something and return it, it will return back to the card you used. If you returning multiple items at the same time from different receipts/transaction, they will return the funds on ANY VISA credit/debit card because they don't know which card you want to use. You can technically get cash advance instead if your bank checking card is a VISA. This doesn't work for online orders, only works at costco warehouse purchases. So if you need to do a balance transfer of $3000, buy a MacBook Pro or something expensive and pay with the NEW visa credit card. Then buy a banana or whatever and pay with another payment. Wait a day and refund both and they will ask you to insert ANY visa credit card for the refund. Insert your OLD credit card with the balance you trying to transfer and you should get a credit of the amount in 3-5days.
This way, you hit your spend limit to get the $200 bonus and get balance transfer with no fees. Again, if you need cash advance with no fee, it will work if your debit card is a visa. Insert your debit card and they will tell you not to enter your pin. It will go into your bank as a credit which take 3-5 days. Did this twice with different cards to get the bonus. Free money basically.
How is this balance transfer? It's buy and return scamming costco
How is this balance transfer? It's buy and return scamming costco
How is it scamming costco? Item was purchased and returned as salable since it's not open/used(except for bananas since produce and cold items can't be resold). When you return items at costco, if it's salable, they tape a green paper on it that say salable on it. If it's not, there's a white sticker that is printed out as destroy or RTV(return to vendor). How do you think I know their procedure so well besides the fact I done this….
The one that is getting "scammed" are the banks involved. You literally putting a balance on new card by purchasing items and having the balance refund put back on the old card. Balance transferred in a non traditional way without the fees.

Do you wonder why Costco changed their electronics return policy?
all this hassle to save a few dollars.

Costco changed their electronic policy MAINLY because of people misusing the return policy by returning old TV, phones , laptops/cpu and getting a new one every year when a better version comes out.
One way I can think of is not every credit card processor fully refunds interchange fees on returns..
Meaning it still "cost" the business something when you buy and return an item from the CC transactions.
And of course it also cost them something (employee time) to process the refund, then more of it to restock the item.
Costco get charged something like .03 or .04 cents for every card transaction. They don't get charge by percentage of the transaction. They have a deal with VISA and their card processor.
Lol employee time. Even if I do or don't do it, there will still be an employee there getting paid by the hour. I used to work at costco refund desk. There are times where I wait an hour before someone comes in for a return. So it will cost them no matter what unless they refuse to do refunds altogether which will be never. You have a slight point for the restocking part. For restocking, they(supervisors) scan the green ticket and bring the laptop or high end items back in lockup which takes about 2-3 minutes.
So I scam costco .04 cents for the return and $1-$1.53 cents for the employee time…
