Looking into the Cap1 Savor option. Seems like you have a good setup. I plan on doing similarly.
You can apply for your own card and your wife can apply for her own card separately so you each get the bonus
Cancelling some CC's today. Need to find out how to dump 130k amex points and like 30k capitalone. Guess I need to travel soon.
Canceling cards will only hurt your credit score.

Wells Fargo is just a shite company IMO. It's funny they reject so many people after creating millions of fake customers years ago.

What is the logical business reason for rejecting customers?
To prevent slickers from getting the rewards, and then cancelling the cards?
They can only use that 4% transaction fee income to make back the promo money?
How is the claims process on Wells Fargo?
I saw that third party Assurant manages it just like Assurion with Chase.
The third party claims process is not as simple as Amex in app. You have to download and fill a bunch of pdf paperwork and provide all documentation and pre purchase a replacement with recept documentation to claim.

I've used the insurance once and it wasn't bad. It was an older phone (Samsung S10) that didn't work properly after I shattered the back. Phone repair place gave me a $225 invoice/estimate to fix it (replace motherboard I think) and they credited me that amount minus the $25 deductible. There wasn't a lot of hoops to jump through as I remember.
I just used the $200 towards an S23 which is now insured by the same WF card.

totally agree with you Wells Fargo is a shite bank, I've been with them for over 20 years, and got this card when it first came out a few years ago, I charge 95% of my transactions with this card which is easily close to 20K a year, but when it comes to fraudulent charges they said they won't do anything for me outside of 120 days.
back in the days when I had my Amex with Costco, they don't F around they just reverse transactions if I asked.
for those who is gonna use this just be aware of their customer service is one of the worst in the industry, see this recent news I saw on TV

after I saw this BS plus how I was treated, I'll be looking for another 2% no fee credit card
