Man, Monolith was on fire in the early 2000s. Wish studios worked like that now

Tron 2.0 really delivers on being a true sequel to the original Tron, in terms of script, aesthetics, and music (which is fantastic). It is definitely a bit blocky, but the gameplay and puzzles are solid. Lightcycles are fun though tricky, as they should be. Here is the opening cinematic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vbgVehHSdY

Be sure to pick up the Killer App Mod.

This game is actually fun, played it back in early 2000's and though not revolutionary it was a solid fun play.

About this game (from the product page):
  • Alan Bradley has finally perfected the technology to digitize people, which allows humans to enter the internal world of a computer. His program, ""Ma3a,"" has AI sophisticated enough to store the entire gene code of a person and the mathematical equations necessary to transfer people back and forth between the physical and digital world.
  • However, fCon -- Future Control Industries -- has learned of Alan's research and is moving to take over the company. When Alan disappears mysteriously, finding him is up to Jet, his son. Jet uses his father's technology to enter the computer world and, while investigating his father's disappearance, discovers a sinister plot.
  • Four ""primitive"" weapons -- disk, rod, ball, and mesh -- are encountered in the computer world, though the disk is the only weapon that can be used both offensively and defensively. Jet will also ride light-cycles, both the classic cycle from the 1982 film and a new ""experimental"" update from designer Syd Mead (also responsible for the original light-cycle design).

If you like the original TRON or just a nerd this is a cool trip back inside the heart of a computer. The atmosphere is amazing and still immersive. The story is told through talking to characters, finding items and solving puzzles. I'm on the fussy side and found the controller tough to get used to even though I prefer controllers. The keyboard/mouse though feels great. If you're into VR try the VorpX mod: https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQu...uest_link/

I loved playing this game back in college! I remember it being really fun and having interesting RPG mechanics.

Fun fact, this game pioneered the "bloom" post processing effect: https://www.gamedeveloper.com/pro...-time-glow

Agree 100%. This game truly earned the title. The graphics are definitely older, but work reasonably well thematically (it's not a Katamari game, but it also isn't a modern Tomb Raider).

Good luck!

The soundtrack to this game is amazing, it takes the original Tron soundtrack, which is already an analog synth work of art, and remixes and reworks it into a modern master piece.
