I bought this pair the last time they were on sale. FYI that the upper material is very thin and will easily wear out. I think this was intentional to create a light shoe, but I don't think longevity was taken into consideration.

You can size up and should be good to go.
Womens shoe sizes are typically 1 size smaller than mens.
Eg W8.5 = M9.5

YMMV sometimes based on specific shoe or brand. Eg I was looking at a pair of Brooks Aurora BL runners and their online size chart recommended a M10 vs a M9.5 for the woman's colorway version.
aren't women's shoes usually a brannock B width instead of a D width for men's? unless they're a unisex shoe I'd worry they'd be too narrow.

Having tried this shoe before (and not being impressed), this Adizero X Parley is like it, but much better. Same price, more sizes, has Lightstrike cushioning, and actually meant for running. 3mm drop, if you're curious.

This depends. Adidas sizing conversions are a bit odd to begin with. Most brands convert to men's from women's by adding 1.5 sizes. For Adidas, their sizing charts indicate 1.0 difference.
In regards to the width, see if you can find anything about the specific last (the mold/form) for this particular model. I know that Adidas does use different lasts between women's and men's models, however, it is not just decreasing the width. To conform (generally speaking) to women's feet, the shoes are slightly narrower at the heel and slightly wider at the forefoot. Obviously, this isn't universally true and some guys have the narrow heel and wider forefoot, so oftentimes the conversion works.

FYI, I'm not speaking without experience. I bought a 10.5 sized women's Adistar whilst I usually run in 8.5 or 9 in men's, and it's fine. For running shoes you want a thumbs width extra room up front.

Thanks OP! Just picked up a pair. These are super light. Great walking shoe. Not sure if I would run in these.

sustainable or not, only having 1.5-2mm of rubber under any shoes are not good for longevity for the shoes in general. It's a bad shoe design unless you are racing in these and are willing to part with them after 3-4 races.
I've had some minimalist shoes with thin Vibram rubber bottoms last me a long time. I think it greatly depends on the quality of the material.

I got these for my wife last year and she really likes them. That said, the upper is very thin and gets dirty easily. I also can't imagine her using them for running, definitely just a casual walking shoe.

I'm more of a neutral stance on this topic but you seem really triggered over this. Just move on and don't buy if you don't like it? 🤷

The planet doesn't give a crap about you, but you may care about your kids.
