Just wanted to suggest anyone in the market for a Tesla also check the inventory link on the Tesla site and check their used inventory. Lowering the prices on the new cars also caused the used cars to be lower so you can technically get a used long range for less than a new standard model. Prices will vary by area no doubt, but just an example here ----> https://www.tesla.com/m3/order/5Y...o#overview

I'll pay extra and not have to smell the previous owners farts.

I am with you, never liked drive of any electric car - tesla model 3, vw id5 or hyundai ioniq 5.

That's part of their known fit and finish issues.. it's never been a Lexus that's for sure

Model 3 dropped $1000 BUT the $7500 tax credit is going away, so not really a price drop unless you have cash to buy one before April 18

Incorrect sir only one version of the three is losing half it's tax credit.

And somehow the current Tesla owners think that their used car prices will keep going up than the new one.

Wow. Is it just constant blackouts? Please tell me more.
Well, here in CA we are provided with "charging blackout time recommendations" from the state leaders and energy officials in an effort to help relieve the energy grid, predominantly during peak usage (4pm - 9pm). Currently, only about 1% of all vehicles on the road in California are EVs.
Over 1 month, the average EV driver consumes approximately 408 kWh on vehicle charging, or 13.6 kWh per day - these figures are based on at home charging on a 240-volt outlet and 14,000 miles/yr driven.
As of right now, California imports approximately 30% of its energy needs for power generation. Solar/Wind provides approximately 4-5 hours at capacity power generation (approximately 30% of total power generation overall), then quickly diminishes to approximately 10% or less the remaining hours of the day, leaving a significant gap of power generation and adds increased amounts of stress to power grid (refer to the Renewable Power "Duck Curve")
In conclusion, the state of California cannot generate enough power at this point in time without reductions in power consumption through brownouts and blackouts. By adding additional power consumption in the form of EVs en masse (500,000+ more), California is on pace to regularly scheduled blackouts 2-3 hours per day for approximately 2-4 million residents per day until power generation capacity (in the form of stored power via batteries) or increased power generation in real-time can be accomplished. Not saying it's not possible in the next 13 years; it's just going to take some very creative solutions to make it a reality.

It's not pretty much the same car when Tesla has documented fit and finish issues to this day .

As does literally every brand of car.

FWIW my Lexus had more from-the-factory problems than my Tesla did (and required more service visits during the first 5 years of ownership too). Not saying that's always the case of course, but the idea there's some massive # of substantive problems is simply not reflected in reality (one way to know this is checking Teslas warranty costs as a % compared to other car makers-- it's actually LOWER than average)

Another way is looking at owner satisfaction surveys, where Tesla reliably leads all brands. If they had massive fit/finish issues that would not be the case.

Welcome soon to the electric side of driving. Every car has issues, but sales on cars that have fixed price and you don't have to do the dealership dance speaks volumes. We enjoy ours even though you can feel the crappy roads more than we would like. Zoom Zoom!

Those states that have Earth Day events coming up is a great way to see different makes and models and talk with owners. Most will be 4/21-4/23.

If buying an electric vehicle makes me become anything like some of the people arguing in this thread (special shout out to that smug dude telling everyone "Some people actually care what their car looks like") I am seriously rethinking buying one.

Just give me whatever car gives me the kind of self awareness to know how obnoxious I actually sound when I spend my entire day trying to pick fights with people about something that doesn't matter in the slightest.

Why do you prefer paying a useless middleman dealer who is going to have to mark up the MFG cost with extra $ for himself, then give "some" of that markup back for "haggling" just so he can waste your time arguing about the price?

Do your homework and the alleged middleman won't bang you.
