Ok I have Tesla MYP and Lexus ES. Nickel and dime is just Tesla. F off if you're saying the luxury brands doing that. With increased costs and reduced margins quality and QC is their only saving grace if they start giving up on QC people will just turn to Tesla lol. And to summarize arguments from other people as owner of one of the best mid range luxury cars and well selling electric model, I only bought electric car because it's way cheaper to drive and office has free charging. For long drives and comfort of driving I'm never driving my MYP and don't think ever will. Road noise and wind whines while driving are annoying to the point i simply don't want to be tortured for hours on end. Yes electricity is cheap and will always be than gas as gas prices have to go up as reserves deplete and countries move to nuclear and average break even/positive losing of EV environment damage is 3 years average. It's better car for people who want cheap car. I simply will not agree to cope of Tesla owners. I knew what I was getting into a fancy techy car which is a plastic/metal box on top of 40k battery and processors.
Musk is a special case because he craves attention and behaves like an A$$. If Tesla makes sense for you it's worth considering.
Keep in mind Tesla has no respect for customer privacy.

yes how dare they violate the privacy of the person who hit a child on a bicycle; one of only few alleged *ex employee* privacy violations you repeatedly link.
if i walked out to my Tesla naked, I'd be more offended if it didn't circulate Tesla office. lmao!
Those anecdotes don't equal a statement like Tesla - the 600B company - has *no* respect for customer privacy
Troll.
What insurance did you use?
They are going back to the drawing board after reverse engineering a Tesla.
I've never had any issue finding available ample fast charging between SF East Bay and LA.

Yes, i guess so are just so above all of us, huh, not caring what kind of car you drive at all. Good for you.
Edit: I am not crazy about the looks of a Tesla either. I get it, it's polarizing. There are some people who love it and some who don't. But at least it's not a Bolt. Don't get me wrong, a Bolt has its place and purpose. A good-looking stylish car, it is NOT. I think every non-Bolt owner (and probably many Bolt owners) will agree to that. I think if you are in a professional building parking lot, being seen walking out of a Bolt would be downright an embarrassment. Ok, some of you are above looks and materialism, good for you. The rest of the world doesn't operate that way. You can potentially find the president of a company drive a Tesla, but you are not going to find one driving a Bolt. Not the president of a real company with 50+ employees (unless he/she is so big and rich he is doing it just to prove a point like Bill Gates). Let's be real hear.
Comparing a Bolt to a Tesla has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. They both have their merits and their weak points, but they are COMPLETELY different types of cars for different target audiences. It's like comparing a Bolt to a golf cart. Both do their jobs well, just meant for different purposes. So stop with the stupid comparisons.
Lol the bolt actually gets upgrades to its appearance. Teslas have not changed their appearance in 10 years and other cars look less boring than a Tesla.
The bolt actually as an interior that makes sense. Let's be real HERE.
Why would you own a 45k vehicle (including tax and charges) for driving 20 miles everyday?
The Leaf is the ideal vehicle for daily commute and city driving. Best value for money, ultra low maintenance, low cost upfront, lower insurance, no gas fill up time and very fun to drive.
People buying over priced Tesla as their first EV should consider other options and check out Reddit forums before buying. I never knew that Nissan Leaf had so much love and loyalty. Also, wait for another 2 years and the market will be flooded with EV vehicles in all price ranges from many manufacturers. Right time to buy an EV is 2 years from now.
My bet is that another price cut is coming, or the battery sourcing issue is fixed shortly.

Here's Lexus still charging for map updates on many cars that have been free on Teslas for all their existence:

Here's Mercedes charging a subscription to enable the rear steering all versions of this model come with from the factory

So you can be mad at people telling you all lux brands do this- but it remains a fact.
That's one thing I don't miss about ICEs after switching to EVs. Lot less moving parts and practically no servicing.

M3 came out 6 years ago, MY 3 years ago. S & X got a refresh little over 2 years ago. S rear looks much improved now. What do you mean ten years?

Ideally, it would make sense to have 1 EV and 1 ICE vehicle so you can drive around town without blowing money on gas but could also go on longer road trips without waiting ti charge. I know this is probably not economical for most though.
