I was being facetious. Just poking fun at how "worldly" I was not. Very limited exposure to anything remotely exotic until I got older.

Red pepper flakes and finely diced jalapeño is the easy way.

If your ever close to an Indian Restaurant you might enjoy an Indochinese Fusion Dish
called Schezwan Style Hakka Noodles. veg or non-veg.

I like how cheap the ramen is. Is there a hack to make them super spicy? To make a poor man's Shin ramen?

I don't know why but I used to consider red pepper flakes as a poor people spice. Maybe because we used it in my house growing up. Anyway, I used some in a nice soup when I didn't have any hot sauce or peppers spicy enough. Man, it did the trick!

We usually have some that we pickup from the Asian food marts. It's pretty much the same as in almost dim sum houses. Very, very tasty. Not all of the brands are spicy though. The last one we bought wasn't spicy. I don't recall which brand it was, sorry.

About the same price per pack for Nissin's Top Ramen, Chicken or Beef flavored, 5-pack for $1.25 at Dollar Tree or Dollar General. Less chance of getting crushed in transit -- last time Amazon sent my 24-pack in a white poly bag from CA to NY (I guess the East Coast ran out of chili shrimp), the outcome wasn't pretty.

Maybe because it used to be garbage? Spice companies used to throw that stuff away, it was what they used to take off the peppers before they made other chili spices. It's the most irritating part of the peppers to your guts.

I always add tapatio and lemon juice to mine before heating up. Then as I'm eating drop a hot Cheeto in before I grab some noodles and mix it around, eat Cheeto with noodle, repeat, and by the end you should have a fiery red soup to drink that'll have you dripping sweat from the heat
