NOTE WELL: Make sure the model you are getting supports the Netflix app!! Last time I checked Netflix could not be installed on Projectors with a pure Android TV OS. Now Android TV has been been phased out for Google TV but I suspect this projector will be shipped out with Android TV and you will have to upgrade the OS to Google TV. Regardless Netflix support will most likely not work! You will need to find a way to get a modified Netflix apk that can be installed unto the projector which is what I did. This device goes by many names but only the variant that is from Xiaomi supports Netflix apk.
Now unto the fun stuff.
I paid alot of money for this projector (approx $500) after my ZTE Spro 2 crapped out and I have not regretted it.
##Pros
-Very bright and even brighter when plugged in. To get the max brightness the projector must be plugged
-over 100 inch projection
- very good room filling audio.
-USB port in the back to play external media, hdmi port, aux port too
- respectable battery life and size makes this thing a nice portable media machine
##Cons
-ports in the back are mid: usb 2.0, hdmi 2.0, no sd card slot and only one usb port
-the auto keystone feature aint the greatest, I am always manually keystoning
- the Reds in Youtube videos get boosted when I switch to certain Display Modes
-internet connectivity will cut out one-time after I power on the projector so I have to toggle the wifi connection on and off.
-the projector can read 4K signals but the output will always be 1080p
All in all, this smart projector has sat in a very unique place where its better than the stand alone projectors that you can get around $400-$500 and the projectors that are better than it cost waaay more.
Alternative is the Xgimi or Nebula line of projectors to guarantee Netflix support.

Is there an ultra low cost good 4k one?

For the needs you described though it doesnt sound like you need a portable smart projector, a stand alone projector will do you fine. I would suggest shopping for brightest and not 4K to get the biggest bang for buck
