I signed up for this once. During the free trial my credit card expired. Since they bill you in advance, I thought, no problem... I'll just let them cancel my account. But instead of doing that, they sold my "debt" to a debt collection agency. So be careful with this free trial.

It shouldn't cost money to have them hold packages.. Not going to support this.

Especially at an Access Point. Making 1 stop to deliver 10 packages at an Access Point is in UPS benefit than making 10 stops to deliver at ultimate destination.

I live in a bad neighborhood and the risk of theft of packages is high. I was paying four or five dollars to reroute each incoming UPS package to my local access point, which in my case is an auto parts store nearby. I paid $20 for a year of this and just set all UPS deliveries to be delivered to that location. So for me it's working out really well.

There are some UPS deliveries that are actually managed by a third party and are not eligible for rerouting, which I didn't know...

Of my Amazon orders about half are shipped UPS and half are shipped USPS.....

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There is a radio button under preferences that you need to select in order to automatically upgrade the packages
Yeah I had done that and it made no difference. Most of the time they said they couldn't 'redirect the package' so it got delivered by usps anyways.

Agreed. Next, UPS drivers will start demanding that we pay them tips.

This whole UPS membership ticks me off. We used to be able to get detailed tracking info for free; now they show only partial tracking info and request that we pay to get the detailed info.

This obviously is only happening because we consumers put up with it.

Well, it's much better than using FedEx Ground any day.

Then, be my guest and use FedEx Ground. Don't get mad now, if you they happen to lose your packages or misdeliver them. I'll stick with UPS and their non-contractor drivers. With FedEx you get a FedEx corporate employed driver when use use FedEx Express.

Meh. UPS has destroyed my packages before.
In my experience all the carriers are about the same: UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS have all damaged or delayed my packages about equally.
I'm using FedEx right now because UPS is doing this paywall garbage. Just received a FedEx Express package from Italy in a mere 4 days with no problems, and I got proper tracking the whole way for free.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting for a package from UPS that I paid too much to ship and that's been delayed an extra week, and I only get the one liner telling me the status. No, I would not have used UPS if I had a choice--the sender only uses UPS.

My renewal is in June so I tried to do this. No issues getting to the correct page and entering the code. It showed the cost as $2. Unfortunately it keeps erroring for "Based on the information provided, UPS cannot process your request. If you feel this message was provided in error, please contact UPS." Not sure what that is about. It processes my auto renewal just fine when it needs to.

Don't even put DHL is the same class as the rest, DHL sucks at the delivery game...years ago they said they were leaving the USA delivery game but somehow stayed here and cause problems....

Try USPS PO Box, they do provide physical address option for UPS/FedEx.

Can confirm. And I never have the option for a 2 hour delivery window
This is a bummer. I was wanting it for this purpose. I live in the sticks and would love for packages to stay with our UPS driver who is great. Have no problem paying full price for that but it sounds like it would be a waste of money. Thanks for the info.
