My experience with the subscription expiring is that the features like downloading stock prices or bank details is shut off, a large panel takes up screen space that reminds you the subscription is expired and encouraging you to renew it, and repeated prompts to sign into your Quicken account just to use the software. It is a deliberately annoying user experience.

I just renewed my subscription. Will this just add an existing year to the current year?

This says it's for New Subscribers only. Is there a way around that?

Can someone tell me what happens upon the expiration of the included year? Does the software lock and become useless, or do they just disable certain features like syncing w bank accounts?

I'm still using quicken and quickbooks from ~2016 via a win10 virtual machine. All these subscriptions are painful.
Thanks for any insight.

So I have a several rental properties and have been tracking everything through excel manually. I get annoyed every year I have to do my taxes and so was looking for a better way and it looks like the home and business would work for what I need. How easy is it to get this program set up for rentals and inputting things like property purchases, mortgages, and depreciation? And does it make filing taxes a lot easier if you upload to H&R block or turbotax?

Yes it will, but you can't enter it until 6 months before your existing subscription ends.

Yes! They at least used to claim it was only needed for online access to your accounts, and I had held off after a subscription expired for a deal because I haven't used it online for a long time. Then it turned into annoyware.

Sadly, I don't think there is a competitor anymore. Never used it but I heard microsoft money was comparable, but when Q went subscription based and I tried to investigate, I found that Money had disappeared.

I'm not knocking the software but I'm happy to use Mint for free. What does this give me that Mint (intuit) does not.
