Eligible for Refund or Replacement
This item is non-returnable, but if the item arrives damaged or defective, you may request a refund or replacement.
Now, that said...
A couple of weeks ago I got a $20 bag of bird food with a surprising percent bashed to dust. My first *six* calls which included *three* managers by rote told me Amazon had the product listed as non refundable **and** non returnable even though it had the above labeled on the product page.
When I said it was literally illegal to practice policies in direct conflict with anything a company posted in writing they basically said, 'Tough.'.
The mgr who eventually got it squared away said he'd send a complaint claim email for me to return with pics. But he told me I was wasting my time in so many words & his attitude told me he just did it so I'd stop wasting his.
The claim was refunded faster than anything I think I've ever seen. It was that big of a mess.
Amazon knows exactly what they're doing. They make (or keep) a fortune from their CSRs & the higher up's being that misinformed(?) shall we say. Sadly, it's up to the customer to keep them from getting away with it until government oversight finally steps in (not holding my breath ).
