I have one of these and it's an excellent value for the money.
However, it's not light weight.
Also, the mesh doesn't keep out no-see-ums. I watched them pour in through the mesh like it wasn't even there - didn't slow them down one bit. By morning I was covered with thousands of bites.
If you're camping where no-see-ums aren't a problem then you're good to go.
Can't beat it for the price.

Yeah, I mean spending an extra $200 to save a pound? I'll just take my daily bathroom break in the morning instead

Buying one person tents is not usually on my agenda when I'm drunk.

I am no backpacking guru but 4lbs sounds like a lot for a 1 person tent. We have a REI 2 person, and it is just over 4lbs. But we can split up the parts.

It's definitely not ultralight, but it's also $20.

I've got a very similar one, but the one with aluminum poles and the finer mesh. Paid a teensy bit more than this a long time ago, and it's my spare tent for REALLY tight spots. Used it for a few years then went with a 2p alps, I was a lot happier. The 1p is now a loaner tent for when I go with a bud.

Yeah, mine was an older Slickdeals Ozark trail 1p tent too. I did not have any issues with it, but I too purchased another more expensive model brand but still like this one. The room is very good. I used klymit bedding and was very comfortable. No issues with bugs or water.

The reviews indicate the stakes are heavy. I bet you could knock several ounces off with lighter ones.
