Ugh... they keep making smaller and smaller pans in these sets to lower costs.

if you'll use all the pieces, not as much if you only need half the set because the other half's too small

I don't follow prices on these type pans right now so I really can't say. We have a kirkland set we bought 15 years ago that is still going strong - but those pieces are bigger - with this set I'd want a bigger stock pot, saute pan, and frying pans - but you could add those separately as you find good deals on them. I'm not sure how other sets compare price/size wise.

They better not. I bought this and already have a few that I was planning to stack on top of the old set.

EDIT: Looks like you might be right. Looking at my receipt for the set from 6 years ago, the stock pot was 8 quarts, not 6. That stinks.

Have a full range of the nonstick version and a few pieces of the stainless steel. Much prefer the stainless steel. Have never had an issue with SS, but you really have to be careful with the utensils you use because the nonstick coating isn't the most durable. Calphalon has replaced them under the lifetime warranty, but I find myself just grabbing the SS version now whenever I cook. Someone above said they are making these smaller to save cost, which might have been confirmed from an old receipt I have. We'll see when it comes. One difference is that it looks like they've made the logo different on the stacking mechanism.
