about $5 less than these usually are discounted between either the AstroAI or KAIWEETS brands.

That Old Radio Guy review is pretty impressive. My experience with these cheap Chinese meters is not so good. They usually have some crazy bug or range painfully slow. Probably good for the basics.

For the price, I'll give this a shot. I personally have three Fluke meters at my home. I recently was visiting my daughter and she mentioned not having power at one of her receptacles. I had to go back to my house to get a meter to make checks. I plan to leave this meter at her house, with the batteries removed, for the random times I need one. Thanks OP.

Thanks, just bought one. At this price it's worth a try. I've been meaning to get an auto-ranging model with capacitor and transistor testing, and it's nice to have additional multimeters to keep in various places so they're there when you need them. The temp feature seems useful, for doing car diagnosis.

While most meters have moved to two to three AA or AAA batteries, this meter uses a 9V which is a major pro or con depending on personal preference. Many prefer AA/AAA for cheaper replacement that is more readily available at home. 9V batteries are good or occasionally use items since they leak within the batteries' metal case and rarely corrode the meter's battery contacts. Plus this meter has a mechanical off switch position so no parasitic drain so I don't see a need to remove battery for storage.

This is perfect for 99% of homeowners. Generally, accuracy isn't critical for most users as you're just trying to see if power is present or not. Or if you've got 110VAC there or 220VAC there. Continuity or no continuity. etc etc. For those that work on and repair electronics and need 0.1 accuracy, you'd be using a Fluke anyway. Nobody is recommending you to fix the space shuttle with this. I'd take this meter over no meter any day of the week.
