Nice deal, Pity I still have the Ink Business Preferred active and just applied for Freedom Unlimited... A word of caution with their UR Travel service. I had very negative experience with them lately.
On one occasion, I planned my conference and booked the hotel with UR Travel instead of using the conference link. The price was similar, so I decided to earn a few points... That was bad choice because:
They charged the full amount immediately instead of placing a hold.
When I wanted to shorten my stay, it took me almost 2 hour on the phone to change it. And even then, their portal still shows the old travel dates and it took them 2 weeks to refund the difference, so that I had to pay the balance first.
On the other occasion, I tried to book a cruise with them - even worse headache. They do have some cruises online but not all of them. And definitely they don't have any of the optional packages the cruise lines now have to sweeten the deal. My cruise was not available on the portal so I ended up spending 2-3 hours on the phone with very ignorant UR rewards employee who wanted nothing more than to end the call.
And most importantly... The Ultimate Rewards Travel has been outsorurced abroad, to multiple call centers in at least 2 multiple locations (I heard 2 different type of accents, both equally bad). The UR Travel call center used to be 100% English speaking, very knowledgeable, very nice and attentive representatives. Not anymore. Upon your call you are getting to the badly accented employee who is clueless as to what you are asking such that you have to repeat yourself 2-3 times. Mid you, English is my second language too, so I don't mind repeating, knowing that my accent is also bad. But I also know that it is not that bad so I have to repeat myself so much so it gets tiring. There is also bad lag between you talking and call center responding. This is confirmed on every occasion I had to interact with them. The only way to solve this is to immediately request the US Representative. At least for now this works, but who knows for how long.
Thanks for the heads up. Refer my wife to sign up. That's 15k for referral and 80,000 once the spending requirements are met.
That's what OP said. 80k + 10k in branch.

Spoke with CSR at branch, you must have neither preferred nor reserved for at least 2 years. Otherwise, no bonos for any signup bonuses.
It's 48 months from when you received the bonus. That data is all over the web heh. You just need to product change a sapphire card to something else. It takes about 7-10 days for it to show in branch and I think about 4 if you apply online.
I product changed recently and re applied, 5 year sapphire preferred holder

Just curious where you got the 7-10 day for showing in branch? I product changed my reserve on the 10th and went to the branch yesterday the 19th and their systen still didn't allow the application. I was told 2 months in branch. I can apply online though but I'm trying to take advantage of the in branch offer
This is a great bonus unfortunately I'm not eligible again until end of next year. If anyone's in to international travel I HIGHLY recommend searching Aeroplans site using miles, they are one of Chase's transfer partners.
About mid March I booked a one way business class flight through them with, one of their partners, Etihad to Thailand this December. It was 87500 points and about 65 cash. That's over 18 hours in a lie flat seat. Even when I look that ticket up on Etihad's site it's an $8900 ticket or a little over 1 million of their miles.
You can definitely use this to do something really nice for yourself. Now I just need to get a flight home 😂
My friend referred me but the referral page says nothing about me getting a 15k referral bonus. Are we supposed to see any messaging about that? Don't want to sign up with her referral only to find out at the end that there was no referral bonus to begin with (and then I'd be out 10k that I would've had if I had signed up at a branch).

No. There's no indication other than you trust the link you click. It should work.
Signing up at branch requires an additional $2k spending.
do people just cancel or downgrade once the first year is over and don't use the card much anymore to avoid annual fee?
Yes, you downgrade preferable before the renewal. I did right after and they refunded the fee. You can still use the card after that it is just going to be different card with different benefits.

Chase as general policy will not allow a product change in the first year, so you'd have to wait until after renewal. As long as you do it within 30 days they fully refund the annual fee.
To those who pay their Chase credit card with another bank how have you set it up? Through your paying banking or by linking your paying bank's account with Chase? Was looking to do it with Bank of America, but not sure what method causes the least headache.
I do that exact setup and use EFT, BoA is setup as a draw from account within Chase.
