I noticed that hard drive reviews on Newegg tend to be worse than everywhere else for the same drive. I think they just don't take care with storage and shipping.

Right at the sweet spot price/TB, especially since it doesn't need to be shucked.
$110 with 5 years warranty

I literally just ordered from Newegg fans (that were the same price on Amazon a day later) and it took over two weeks to get them. I think they came from China, then it sat in Cali for a week, then another week to my house. It literally took over a week after they generated the label before it shipped. So an unsuspecting person would think it took UPS two weeks to get here, when in reality the egg took well over a week to ship it. Worse it said it was in stock when obviously not.
Its not all hearts and flowers at Amazon either, the delays are brutal now but not this bad. Apparently cheap shipping is no more so the online commerce ponzi scheme is starting to run out of suckers. This reminds me of the 90's all over again, when lies and deception ruled when ordering something online.
On top of that they literally put the fans in a UPS unpadded packet with ZERO padding, just a packet. I am shocked there was no damge.
So I would say the company is going down the tubes, its sad how bad they have become.
Also be aware Red Plus has less duty cycle (less writes per year), and in some cases shorter MTBF and only 3 year warranty. If you are not a heavy user or are ok then these drives are fine, but in the last few weeks I have seen legit datacenter drives w/ 5 year warranties be priced at all time lows. It is also difficult to know which Red/Red Plus are helium filled where the pros are all. WD seems to play a lot of games, that is why I only buy HGST DC drives because I know these are legit datacenter drives and enterprise companies won't fall for WD marketing whims.
So a HGST helium drive (Ultrastar) -> WD Red Pro. They are usually part compatable. Exos is Seagates, then some Ironwolf are the consumer version like the higher reds (pro/plus).

I concur.
At the moment WD store is down due to a hack a few weeks ago
They will give you a 15% off coupon and PayPal has 12% cashback
The 18 TB Red Pro was $300 x .85 = $255 x .88 = $225/ divide by 18TB = $12.46/TB before tax

I stopped buying from Newegg when they started reporting purchases to states.
If I want to buy from a 3rd party with zero skin in the transaction, I'll use ebay.
