Most are not. Especially overseas. I just took one on my Slickdeals trip to Bora Bora and the footage is insane.

Slickdeals fo life!
Every place I've gone overseas has been restricted thus far over the past 2 years. I suppose it's hit or miss. But for example, most UNESCO heritage sites are and I'm currently working my way through them.

They need to ban normal people to buy drone, because the idiots fly like these drones are toys.

Did you go through a grueling qualification exam to fly your drone? Are you licensed by the FAA? Guess what? You're a normal person.

The level of smugness on this post is ridiculous. Most of us, including noobs, fly ours responsibly for self interest reasons. No one wants to lose a $400 "toy". As for them being dangerous, sure if you fly it right into someone's eye. Otherwise, the blades won't cause anything other than a cut and a lesson learned.

These are under 250 grams so you don't need to register them and even if it was over 250 grams there's no licensing for recreational use.
While it's true you don't have to register it if it's 249g or under, you'll exceed that pretty much any time you add any accessory to it. I think a few of these models now also have extended battery options that will also put them over the limit. Rec registration is $5 and you can it use it for all of your rec use drones, anyone making a big deal about it or using it as a reason to get one model over another is simply not a reasonable or knowledgeable decision maker.

Recreational operators are also now required to pass the TRUST exam (free) and have the certificate available when flying. Technically there's no such thing as FAA pilot "licenses", the proper term is "certificates", so being a certificated recreational user is equivalent to what every other manned and unmanned aerial vehicle pilot is required to obtain that most people mistakingly refer to as a "license".

I'm dying for Avata price drop.

I currently own the mini 3 pro, and I would also really like the FPV style helmets to work with the mini 3 pro.

I keep wanting to jump into this for vacations, but I feel like most places are restricted.
Why would they be restricted and how would you know?

You can fly in parks, they can not "bypass" the FAA. You can not take off or land within a national park, but you can fly in it otherwise as they still do not own the airspace, the FAA does.

You can also, if warranted, be charged with harassment of wildlife and/or disturbing the peace. Operating in a way that disrupts other lawful park activities, even if unintentionally, is the risk one takes for operating in a location just because "I have the right too....".

A lot of places are restricted because of privacy or safety. There are apps and maps that let you know if it's a no-go zone. DJI has geo zones to help with this as well.

are they including bonus items?
You are correct, the extras are not included. The retail value stated for these is just as vastly overblown as for the drone itself. But the BuyDig deal you found is better for anyone looking to buy.

I have both the RC controller and the Smart controller, and I like the RC much better. It's noticeably lighter too. Brightness is good on the RC out in the sun as well, highly recommend it

The best drone to buy if it hasnt already been updated to newest firmware is the DJI Mini 2. You can buy a license key from Dronehacks and basically fly it anywhere. No prior authorization required. Any height and location. It places a toggle icon within the app if you want to enable or disable the hack. I have it on mine. I still want a Mini 3 Pro, but I'll never sell my Mini 2.

Any decent place you'd like to fly is banning drones so 9 times out of 10 drone will cause you nothing but a frustration when you see that you are in restricted area and take off is not permitted.
