Note that the PSU is 400W

That's fine for what it is now but it will limit future upgrades

I am absolutely floored this system is SHIPPED by Microcenter. Almost all of Microcenter's deals are in-store only.

With that in mind... There are 4 DIMM slots, here is the manual [lenovo.com] along with the Product Page. [lenovo.com]

Seems like a decent deal.

Just upgrade the video card instead, can sell the 1660 for $150 on Ebay.

Follow up question to my own deal: Would something like this be a good upgrade over my current PC? I'm looking to get a 49" Ultrawide and I Was told my existing system my not be suitable for that

Existing specs:
Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 - 500GB Solid State Drive
Upgrading your GPU with that money would be a MUCH better investment. The 3050 is barely an upgrade over your 1660. Your CPU will still be fine at 1440p ultra wide resolutions. At those resolutions, your GPU will still almost always be your bottleneck, unless you get something like a 4090 (meaning your CPU is still more than powerful enough in most scenarios). For the price of this desktop you could grab a 6950xt and play at max settings, or get a 3080 12GB. A 3050 isn't going to push a 1440p ultra wide monitor to playable frame-rates in many modern games. It can barely play a lot of modern AAA games at 1080p at anything above low settings. DLSS can only do so much.

What ??! Frys was amazing, Where else can geeks go to geek out, see every single gadget, play the latest game, and just hang out? Yeah, browsing amazon is not quite the same thing. Plus Frys had great deals on all kinds of stuff. It was the corporate vultures that killed it not online stores.

You complain about customer service, do you have any idea how many people abused and cheated their generous policies. Why do you think so many stores had to end those policies?
Sorry, have to disagree with you. By the time Frys closed and for several years preceding their closures, they went waaaay downhill. I shopped at multiple Frys since the early 90's and can tell you that a comparison between the stores back then and to before closing was night and day. Back then they had staff that actually had knowledge of their products so in addition to having the cool gizmos and gadgets as you describe they also had staff who would not only serve you but were able to guide a purchase with input because most of those employees were geeks also. Those staff were replaced with cheap labor and staff became not only non attentive but had no knowledge of the products (not to mention the communication issues due to language barriers of many of the staff), they were basically key holders that opened the case for you for items behind the counter.
I will agree with you that it was nice to have Brick and Mortar stores in general because as you say, you can't replicate the feeling of being in the store by shopping on Amazon, but that is more of a sign of the modern era than anything else and is happening across industries (I feel bad for kids nowadays that they don't have Toy's R' Us or Kaybee Toys to walk into wide eyed). So yeah, aside from the free after rebate blank DVD's and free paper shredders I can't say I really miss Frys.

When you swapped the PSU what was the process like with the cables? Did you just swap the PSU block and re use all the existing cables or did you swap out all the power cables as well (the ones that came with the new PSU)?

Thanks. Thinking about doing the exact same thing.
You should definitely swap out the cables as well when swapping power supplies. Figured this out the hard way and fried a hard drive by accident and kinda screwed up other parts of my pc as well. Apparently some cables are interchangeable between brands, models but it's not worth the risk of loosing vital components

Usually the cables aren't modular on oem systems.

Not sure why try didn't get rebar either, must have been an older model, the Intel has it m

I'm looking to replace my desktop of 9 years. Would this be ok if I'm just looking to pay bills, stream movies, and day trading?

Nice! Thanks! Is there any reason why they are discounting this so much?

If I have a NVIDIA card now, should I stick with that or does it really matter in the end? I was not looking to break the bank on a GPU, but it appears the ones you suggested are all $600+, correct? Anything "cheaper" to drive an ultrawide? I'm still not 100% committed to a Ultrawide yet either. I have a 32" curved Acer and a 30" Dell that I use for home and work.

I just got the Legion i7 12700 from Ebay w/ 500w PSU. Was also thinking of swapping out the PSU, but the way these cables are tightly routed seems like a PIA. Plus how do you know if your new PSU will have the exact same cables and lengths? When done, the wiring will look sloppy and tight cable mgt is one reason why we buy a PC with a glass side.. If these included PSUs were modular, it would be so easy but then you're looking at higher $$.

I am not much of a gamer, but I use adobe, Photoshop, Lightroom, and premiere. Is this desktop powered for these applications?

Would this be a good system for a kid also to play Fortnite on that is faster than a PS4 - hate to ask that but is what it is. Thanks.
