I think Amazon is lazy with their California compliance or something. Either didn't get it certified for being energy efficient or didn't include prop 65 warning? I have found many times that things are barred from shipment to California that seem like they should be fine

Probably because this light is known to cause cancer by eating the entire light. Or something

you can covert anything to a plug. get an old cord with a plug or buy an extension cord and cut / strip the wire then connect using wire nuts...youtube

It's title 20. They're just lazy to certify it.
Lazy? Everything has a cost. Seems like they realized it wasn't worth it.

I work at a scrapyard. Integrated LED lights like this show up every now and again because they got waterlogged. They're often not waterproof, they're just designed to shed water before it has a chance to get in but that can't cover every angle like good O-rings would.

I'm in the Bay Area, CA.
Probably because the water flow rate is too high .. I am in CA too... we have the dumbest restrictions. Cant buy battery powered smoke detectors... flood lights... shower heads... 🙄

The handyman on YouTube just changed two of these integrated led fixtures that failed a week apart. I think he mentioned they were only a couple of years old.

He went back with old school bulb fixtures, just something to be aware of, especially if you're paying for the install or its on the second story.

Let's say I set the duration to 1 minute. Does anyone know if the motion sensor will cause the light to continue to stay on past 1 minute with continued motion or will it click off and quickly click back on after the 1st minute is up?

yup, i hacked a 1' cable that had a computer plug on the end and wired it to this. then i plugged it into a smartthings outlet inside the garage. this way i can control the hours that it can be one either by auto sensing or toggling the switched outlet plug to make it come on remotely.

ideally the wires and wire nuts go in the electrical box inside the wall opening, but if you mount on a flat non-opened wall then the wires and wire nuts with cable will be exposed as the back of this light is near flat.

Can't say w/ certainty about this item, but one I once had would stay on as long as there was motion within the time span.

I ordered this. How bright is this this, is it too much? 4000 Lumens, 40w equivalent
Too much is in the eye of the beholder, but 4000 lumens is an awful lot of light for a small area or a fairly good sized area even. Personally, more is better for me as I don't have a neighbor to be concerned about. Repped, OP.

Does Amazon Basics have a dawn-to-dusk led light for the front porch in this style without the motion sensor?
