The reviews for this seem a bit split. A lot of people reporting restarts/connection drops while others are completely fine. I'm giving it a shot so we'll see how this goes.

I think it's very firmware dependent. I have the XT8 and while the December 2022 firmware was trash, the February 2023 version has been more or less rock solid with my AiMesh connection.
I have had this for a while now as a 2 pk mesh setup in my 2,000 sqft home. They pushed a firmware update that basically halved the network speed. Luckily you can find whatever firmware works for you and reflash it. The DNS server does not seem to work. The UI is bit clunky but the features are there if you look for them. I would not recommend this.

If you leave it on Default settings, they are absolutely killer. I made the mistake of binding a device to a specific Access Point and I've had a bunch of issues since then with devices not being able to connect to either AP. YMMV but this just started having issues in the last week which is exactly when I attempted to customize some settings.

If I had say a camera closer to the node than the main router, why would I not bind it? I can see with say an iPad where you would roam around the house but not something that is stationary. Are you using an ethernet cable for the backhaul or leaving it wireless?

I had to unbind the APs. Some devices should be connected to a specific AP but in some cases by default they aren't. When binding devices to specific APs I was running into a lot of issues. There was another Amazon review I believe that stated the exact same issue where custom settings don't play nice.
