Not to knock the brand or deal but if getting a Mesa, my .02, you can get an off-brand on Amazon for the same size but for around $20-30 or maybe cheaper. It just won't look as nice as the Solo brand.

Seems like they're still having trouble getting the colored Mesa XL to the customers without scratches all over them.

I want both too. Almost bought both.

Probably right, but I decided to get mesa as just want for table top or to take camping for ambiance. Even the XL is a bit larger of a fire than i want on my porch table. If I was not in the process of also building a 3ft fire pit I would have gone with XL...really wish had grabbed the deal for free mesa with Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 Smokeless Fire Pit for $225 last year

XL has built in pellet burning capability without adapter. It is just a touch bigger and is the same size as Campfire.

I was thinking be cool to take one dirt bike camping but if there is a cheap $20 one I would rather take that. I could not find any for $20-$30. Maybe will just try to make one out of coffee cans as know will get beat up.

The thing that made me pause about the Mesa is people saying how difficult it is to split wood to fit into it. I wasn't sure I needed it anyway since I already have a Bonfire, but something to consider.

It is really just for ambiance. I love watching flames, I will sit there an watch them all night but to make a large fire takes time...this video sold me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYHDREqaPq4
It is just simple for table top any day with twigs or small pieces of wood.
I get it is silly for many but I love idea of making small fire for table top on porch to relax and get mesmerized by flames.
And it can cook marshmallows, even hot dogs on it so for me I think I will use it a lot more than larger fire pit.
