If your lawn is at all long (and if you are using side discharge, it probably is), it will clog all the time. And on those rare occasions that it doesn't, it will leave rows of clumped up grass because of how little force the discharge has by the time it gets to the back of the mower.
This mower is great for mulching. If your grass is too long for that, then you will be bagging, because side discharge isn't going to happen.

As far as the mower goes, I've been pleasantly surprised. I didn't think I'd like it as much as the Ego, but I think it's better (granted, I have an older Ego that isn't the one in this thread).
Greenworks Pros:
$100 cheaper
8 yr battery warranty through Costco
Seems to cut better even without high lift blade (no mohawks so far)
Button to permanently use full power
Metal deck with true side discharge
Cons:
No self propel without blade running (Egos can do this)
Doesn't fold up quite as small
2 batteries to charge instead of just 1
Self propel speed control is weird—most of the slider is way too slow, and it suddenly jumps to very fast near the end…very fine line on where it feels comfortable to me.
I just wish I had made the swap last year when the mower came with 2x 4.0ah batteries rather than 1x 4.0 and 1x 2.0. It's still enough to cover my yard, but it'd be nice to have a little extra cushion for days where I have to mow tall/wet grass. Also, if it matters to you, the Greenworks is the top battery mower on Consumer Reports right now.
On your first 'con,' I don't think that's true. If you hold down the self-propel lever (with mower off) and then press the power button, you get self-propel without the blade spinning.
I also kind of like having two batteries — you can use one while charging the other. And my lawn takes about 45 minutes to mow which doesn't even take me through one battery (can usually even mow twice on one battery), so it's not like I need to charge both batteries after every mow.

Great deal, though surprised a 3 year old mower is still so pricey! I just got the LM2125SP on 3/20 so outside of the return window at lowes. It is more than enough power for my small yard (6ft-lb of torque compared to this select cut mower's "up to 7ft-lb?) in CA, but I miss the suction and "vacuuming" effect of my old Honda that made the lawn look so clean. Not to mention the Honda has a variable drive assist with a trigger whereas this ego is just on/off - feels awkward at times - too fast or too slow haha. Also the Honda has a lever to change from bag to mulch, whereas this ego has a clunky plastic plug. Love the lights and how quiet it is. Also if you already have other ego tools and need a fast charger and 7ah battery these deals are perfect.
It seems like a lot of folks are excited about going electric, but getting a wakeup call on when it comes to performance and really praying for the high lift blade to save them.
Heads up for those of you in Los Angeles trying to switch from gas, get up to 250$ rebate: https://www.aqmd.gov/home/program...te-program
