I own this mower, and while i like most things about it, if you side discharge, this mower isn't for you. Instead of a traditional side discharge, it actually goes through the mulch plug area and makes a crazy tight corner to exit behind the right wheel.

If your lawn is at all long (and if you are using side discharge, it probably is), it will clog all the time. And on those rare occasions that it doesn't, it will leave rows of clumped up grass because of how little force the discharge has by the time it gets to the back of the mower.

This mower is great for mulching. If your grass is too long for that, then you will be bagging, because side discharge isn't going to happen.

I went to DG and bought Lowe's gift card @10% discount. So with sale and gift card came out $200 below regular price.
See this link for gift card info:

Let me just say that I got this exact mower last year at this time and it has been one of the best lawn equipment purchases I have ever made. Can easily get through my lawn (a little over 1/4 acre) with charge left over. The mower cuts through high or wet grass with ease. I don't bag, so I can't speak to how good the bag is but the mulching blade is very good. The battery lasts just as long this year as it did last year. It is so nice to not have to worry about running to the gas station to fill up a can or to ever have to worry about pulling a cord to start it. Couldn't be more pleased.

Any recommendations on where to get the blades sharpened?
Here is a link for a grinder to attach to a drill that works for me!

One thing I love about my gas mowers is parts are cheap. Are replacement parts for electric mowers such as replacement blades cheap and plentiful?
Plentiful? Yes. Cheap? It depends on what you think is cheap.

I love my Honda mower. 15 years, no problem. I also love the EGO POWER+ Select Cut XP Speed IQ 56-volt Self-propelled Mower I received for review. Gas mowers are being phased out in California beginning in 2024.

Really tempting since I got into the ego battery system this year with edger/trimmer/blower. My gas toro super recycler works fine though...
Toro makes an electric super recycler, 21568. Just bought it and cut is great, exactly like gas version but just with a battery in it. Much better than Ego but also more expensive.

Side note to anyone affiliated with the military—- ShopMyExchange (AAFES) has this on their site and you can price match to this so you don't have to pay tax.

What's the difference between this mower and the LM2102SP-A which is on sale for $499 at Amazon, Ace, etc.?

I have this mower with the 7.5ah battery and the battery doesn't last more than 25 minutes now. I don't use the self propelled feature unless it's on an incline. To file a warranty claim you need your original receipt.

I have the next model up (XP), and had long grass. I'd experienced what you described when trying to mow taller grass on medium or lower heights, so instead I knocked down a few of the tallest patches with the string trimmer, then mowed on the highest setting. No clumps.

If the grass is wet, though, all bets are off, but that was the case with my Honda gas mower too. I'm quite happy with the Ego purchase.

I've found that electrics have similar prices for most parts they have in common, except they also have far fewer parts to go wrong and lower maintenance. No oil, oil changes, spark plugs, fuel lines, air cleaner, winterization, etc. You basically just charge the battery and occasionally sharpen the blades.

You should have lawn mower service centers in your area.
Usually $15 to do but just do it yourself.

I'm in the same boat. My old Craftsman mower works perfectly. Starting it after the winter, one pull and it started right up. Must hold back! Lol

But this is a really good deal for a new kit with battery.
I would struggle if I still had a working gas mower but I sold my gas stuff when I moved and got into the Ryobi 40V ecosystem and I'll be damned if I don't miss gas one bit. This year was my first experience with an electric mower and wow, I can't believe how smooth and quiet it is. I can mow at the butt crack of dawn without concern for waking anyone up. It was a weird experience at first.

I have ego lawn mower and it worked well for entering 4th season. 7 weeks ago, self propelled feature stopped to work. Claimed the warranty. It was straightforward. Dropped off the lawn mower at one of partnership service center which was northern tool.
Unfortunately, I still don't have my lawn mower after 7 weeks. They said it will take one-three days to diagnose and a few weeks to wait parts then one week to fix. I called so many times and they said they got the part about three weeks ago then they will fix within two weeks but now they said just wait until they will call me. Nothing I can do……

I've seen YouTube videos and I should do it by myself.
Seriously, ego lawn mower has design issues. All wires can be damage easily and can cause self propel and motor issues.

I had to buy a backup mower… bought manual reel mower.

When it works, I like the mower but…………..Think twice before you buy.
