I own this mower, and while i like most things about it, if you side discharge, this mower isn't for you. Instead of a traditional side discharge, it actually goes through the mulch plug area and makes a crazy tight corner to exit behind the right wheel.

If your lawn is at all long (and if you are using side discharge, it probably is), it will clog all the time. And on those rare occasions that it doesn't, it will leave rows of clumped up grass because of how little force the discharge has by the time it gets to the back of the mower.

This mower is great for mulching. If your grass is too long for that, then you will be bagging, because side discharge isn't going to happen.

Let me just say that I got this exact mower last year at this time and it has been one of the best lawn equipment purchases I have ever made. Can easily get through my lawn (a little over 1/4 acre) with charge left over. The mower cuts through high or wet grass with ease. I don't bag, so I can't speak to how good the bag is but the mulching blade is very good. The battery lasts just as long this year as it did last year. It is so nice to not have to worry about running to the gas station to fill up a can or to ever have to worry about pulling a cord to start it. Couldn't be more pleased.

Yeah I just did one of those lawn measuring sites and I am mowing about 18k. My guess was wrong. I would not recommend this for the size. I have to walk really slow with the Ego and here in Illinois sometimes I am cutting 3 times a week. Every time I mow, the 30" Toro time master seems more and more appealing.

Same boat. I enjoy the forced walks and not having to get a riding mower that takes up so much space, but I really wish self-propelled mowers >22" were more common.

My back yard is very small (only about two passes between the concreate and edge of the property. It is also on a slant of about 35 degrees. Anyone use this that can comment on how maneuverable it may be? I have a 20 year old push mower that is not self propelled and it likes to drift towards the fence making it difficult to get close. Thank you!

They did not ask for the battery back. You just need proof of purchase and each battery is identified with a unique serial number.

What's crazy is that because I have multiple EGO tools, I had thrown away a couple of the black charging stations. They told me I should have registered them because the warranty won't work unless they could validate that I was in possession of the entire bundle. Fortunately, I just happened to not throw away the charger that was part of the bundle.

This hassle is apparently resolved by just registering everything as soon as you get it.

Try to utilize some Ace gift cards from PayPal, $250 max/ transaction on Ace online. But at least you can save $30 by buying 2x$100 gift cards which are on sale for $85 each.

Worked for me, my local store had like 8 in stock without the sale price listed. The app said pickup would be ready 4 days out. Walked in and price checked, came up $599 as advertised on web.

I ordered 5/1 and just received it yesterday at my local store. Weird thing is they had like 15 in stock but when ordered online it goes through special order. Plus mine got delayed so the manager gave me 5% off for inconvenience.

so true. Bought a Honda and has my first experience after not cutting for 2 weeks. It use like half a tank which is about 0.1g for a 8000sq ft lot

did you use your lowes card? Would have been another 5% off.

I got mine on order. With the Wells Fargo $200 reward on $500 spent, this mower comes out to $399.99 for me. I already have a rock solid Honda HRX217, but wanted to go green and see if its worth it.

same price at ACE btw. I just bought it, coming from a standard Toro gas mower. It performed the same, if not better on slightly wet grass. Had some juice left in the 7.5Ah battery after mowing twice over my roughly 4000 sq ft of lawn. Was the first mowing of the year so I did it in two passes - first one bagged on the highest setting, 2nd one mulched somewhere in the middle height. Maneuvers great, cuts great, stores upright. Love it!

No, just used discounted lowe's gift cards.
I have Toro gas version and after 1st use I Ilike this Ego. I just tried mulching and it did very good job.
