will give it a try since it's plant based
😆 wait, are you serious? Did you miss the fact that it's mostly just oil and dyes?

I think you're being too hard on yourself. The amount of soybean oil in this is much less than say something like a salad dressing containing soybean oil. Life in moderation, and have an awareness of whats going in your body. Dont stress too much about it - Thats the real health risk.
Sounds like something someone from Big Soy might say 🤔

Love how food on Amazon somehow isn't required to list the nutritional facts…

AVOCADOS is the 5th ingredient in quac...

Ingredients: WATER, TOMATILLOS, SOYBEAN OIL, GREEN CHILE PEPPERS, AVOCADOS, ONIONS, CILANTRO, CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF DEHYDRATED ONION, IODIZED SALT (CONTAINS POTASSIUM IODATE), LIME JUICE CONCENTRATE, MALTODEXTRIN, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, SUGAR, CANOLA OIL, CALCIUM SILICATE, BAKERS YEAST EXTRACT, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, XANTHAN GUM, DEHYDRATED CILANTRO, GARLIC POWDER, ASCORBIC ACID (TO HELP PROTECT FLAVOR), CITRIC ACID (TO ACIDIFY), YELLOW 5, BLUE 1, YELLOW 6..

so really a mix of oil and water and tomatillos, and tomatillos and chile peppers.

also manufacturer replied to a Q on one of them saying it has 2 tablespoons of salt in it! Though I guess it is 32 ounces....

.... but what I'm more concerned with is someone said they bought this in December 2022 and it's best til or had expiration date just a couple months after.
Now, that's odd, because when I look at the Amazon link it says:

Water, Tomatillos, Soybean Oil, Avocados, Onions, Green Chile Peppers, Cilantro, Contains 2% Or Less Of Dehydrated Onion, Iodized Salt (Contains Potassium Iodate), Lime Juice Concentrate, Maltodextrin, Natural And Artificial Flavors, Sugar, Canola Oil, Calcium Silicate, Bakers Yeast Extract, Modified Corn Starch, Xantham Gum, Dehydrated Cilantro, Garlic Powder, Ascorbic Acid (To Help Protect Flavor), Citric Acid (To Acidify), Yellow 5, Blue 1, Yellow 6.

Avacados#4. Other stuff also in different order.
Somebody is either lying or does not know what goes into their own product?!

If you know of a low sodium salsa please let me know suggestions, I've been looking for such but can't find any (not "Reduced" but actually low)

What I'm *least* concerend about is whether it's slightly before or after a so-called "Expiration" date, since they're nothing more than a complete scam by the food industry to get 100s of millions of people to throw away perfectly good food and buy more.

Because Congress is way too busy debating their idiocy-of-the-week that 95% of the country does not care about to spend a few minutes updating obsolete food labeling laws that assume you can pick the can up off the shelf in front of you and turn it around to look at the label. Among a long list of food safety and nutritional issues Congress completely ignores. I highly doubt many of them do their own grocery shopping, internet or otherwise.

Making it yourself is easy and tastes infinitely better than any store bought guac. I use Alton Brown's recipe: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recip...pe-1940609

Once you make your own you'll never buy guac again.
Totally agree! Once I started making my own guac and salad dressing, I have never bought them at stores again. The home-made ones are simply healthier, tastier, and more cost effective. Thanks for the recipe!

This stuff is delicious! Is this super healthy? Nah. But it's not meant to be the main course or a meal by itself so you should not be consuming tons of it in a single meal anyway. I'd still recommend making real gaucamole if you are going to dip tortilla chips into something. Sure it's easy to make your own fresh guac. If you have the time to buy all the ingredients and also the time to whip it up and also the time to let it sit awhile in the fridge so all the flavors enter the avocados. But sometimes you just need something tasty to spoon onto leftovers or add some zip to a mexican meal. This goes great with nachos or on top of bean dip. As for the expiration date I've accidentally opened a sealed container several months past the sell by date and it tasted fine and did not cause any digestive issues.Cool

Tried this once. Never again. I'll stick with the Salsa Verde instead.

I got the Costco Kirkland brand recently and it didn't have this many junk ingredients in it avocado and a few natural things that's it. This seems like garbage except for the main ingredient Avocado, even if it has avocado, I believe it has traces of it. Total garbage avoids it.

This stuff is vile. Their salsa is great, but impossible to find, near me.

Because in a few days it will look like poo and you will throw it away.
