Don't look at someone's phone and judge them if they are rich or poor. There are rich people with old cheap phones and there are definitely "poor" people who paid +$1k on phones and paying high monthly plans that they really shouldn't be.

Ummm. You do realize that the phone works during the first months with calls, texts and data? Some people would be happy to use unlimited data in that first month. All those apps, games, camera, etc. work with or without service. Lot of people use multiple phones. I do. Lot of people have lots of wifi outside their home especially with some cable service they may use.

* I have a Pixel 6a and I do like it but it has its cons. The battery life isn't that good and the screen is little bit too small at 6.1" for my liking for browsing chrome/youtube so I prefer to use my other larger screen phones with the big battery at home or my Samsung tablet at home when browsing chrome or YouTube. For me to use my Pixel 6a for browsing chrome/YouTube is wasting battery on a phone that already doesn't have solid battery life and just not that good of experience on 6.1" screen vs my larger screen phones. Answer? Large screen phone with solid battery or tablet.

* 6 months goes by quicker than you think. People aren't like upgrading their phones after every 2 months and it is "so needed" to upgraded from their phone. Patience is a virtue especially for Slickdealers who know a good bang for the buck phone deal or knows money saving tips on deals.

for those new to M deals.

suggest

read wiki

lots of good info

trust me

here is sample:

To have the phone unlock automatically in 180 days (6 months)

You need to have activated the phone 180 days ago.
You do not. repeat do NOT have to pay for service 180 days

the above has been true for most every metro deal in the past.
both apple and android

Most people get the 1 month service.
Then simply place phone in a drawer .
wait 6 months.

The sim can be left in phone or stored safely.
It does not matter, as long as you DO NOT THROW AWAY THE SIM until you get a confirmed unlock

Phone should/will unlock in ~180 days + 6 -10 days.

best chance of success as follows:
During the ~6 month wait.
YOU can use as wifi device.
keep sim in phone.
when getting near the 180 day , have phone connected to wi-fi.
Try to unlock the device, once 1-2 days from day 180 onwards.

- None of us knows when Metro is going to close this unofficial loophole, .
-However this has been in effect with Metro phone deals for last ~4-5 years

Exercise your own judgement,

If I stop paying anything but the $ 89.99, is there a chance T mobile will suddenly charge me some arbitrary cost later down the line to recoup the cost of just the phone itself?
perhaps.

definatly not if u read the wiki

the wiki has special powers to prevent that

all u gotta do is read it

Re-ask. Will pull trigger if confirmed. Thanks!

Quote from taller238 :
Can anyone confirm that it has a working Dual-Sim for 2 separate physical Sim slots (i.e. not using esim)?

If so, spec said the 2nd need share with SD card slot, so I cannot use SD in this case?

Thanks.

usa providers do not sell dual physical sim phones.

you hv to buy international version for dual sim from 3rd parties such as ebay, amazon...NOT T-Mobile, At&t, Verizon...

This one comes 1 sim and 1 esim.

Can any real buyer please share what the slot insert looks like in the received Metro A54?

Many videos on YouTube shows it's a double-sided insert that had a SD card slot on the back of Sim1 side, and can be used to put a Sim2.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRuF1nWwQMg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_...lqgc&t=12s

I don't think Metro can physically disable the Sim2 function while keeping the SD slot open, even after it's unlocked.

So there's no point of argument of what it SHOULD / NOT have, but what it actually is, which is not hard to verify by any real photos or videos.

Thanks.

So you asked a question 3 times and it was already answered.

Watch the videos you shared carefully.
One is showing a European device another is showing an African device (box says 24 month warranty in AFRICA)

That should answer your question.
If not read the above responses again.

No offense but I'd like a "response" with FACT (not claim nor belief), like:

A. a picture of the metro A54 Sim slot
B. a metro A54 owner said he failed to install a 2nd Sim...

The video could be from the non-US A54, so that proves that US A54 lacks the Dual-Sim function? That's still a speculation, not a fact.

Rather, same question in SD was talked before and there's fact-like 1st hand XP saying dual-sim can be supported in US by US device:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=164473592&postcount=57

So the point is back to the original question:

A. What does the Metro A54 Sim slot look like?
B. If there's a place for 2nd Sim, does it work?

Can any real Metro A54 owner supply direct answers please?

No more claim / belief or any argument by it. Just fact please.

Thank you.

Not right out of the box. But some phones can be modded into support dual physical sim. I flashed my OnePlus 6T (from T-Mobile) with international firmware. Then replaced with a dual sim tray that I bought from eBay. And it became a dual physical sim phoneSmilie

This is slickdeals not your personal customer service. And you have been here long enough to know that being whiny and demanding won't get you anywhere on SD.

The post you quoted doesn't mention dual physical sim.

If you want facts go into a BestBuy or other store and insert two sims m see if that works

Well, if you refuse to believe the answers given to you by so many users, then why don't you just buy one yourself to physically take a look yourself?

I can tell you one thing: you most likely won't get the answer "will it work with a 2nd sim" from any Metro A54 owner here because the phone is still locked and won't be able to use another service until 180 days later even if it could work with a 2nd sim. Even the esim is locked and cannot be used on a different carrier.

And the comment you saw where people claimed US phones support dual sims, they meant one physical sim and one esim (or both are esim like the newest iPhones). And it's true that US model phones only support one physical sim with a very few exceptions but required mod (like the OnePlus 6T). Never seen any Samsung phone could do that.

Finally, the A54 sim tray is 2 sided, one side for sim card the other side for microSD card (won't fit a sim card).

2-sided sim tray. One side for SIM, the other side for microsd.

So we really have to wait 6 months? If I activated on May 10th, probably have to wait around Nov 10th to have it unlocked?!
