Interesting that this some is listed with a gig bag and the Christie Hynde is listed with a hard case.
Anyone know if this is true nitro lacquer finish? The listing says lacquer?

All depends what the artist wants. Hynde wanted it to come with the case she got hers with. Page went as far with his 59 Tele "pair" that the white came with the original tweed G&G while after he toured and customized it to the Dragon Tele it came with a copy of his huge touring flight case. Where as some artists like EVH never really cared and you're lucky if ya got a gig bag.
Also believe it comes down to price point, what the artist and guitar company can come to terms with for the buck. Read Alex Lifeson wanted his Epiphone LP to come with a HSC and also wanted it to stay well under the $1000 mark. By the time they put on all his extras like Floyd Rose, dual inputs and Piezo system it wasn't possible at the price. Yet Alex did NOT want a gig bag. Finally they compromised and it came with a hybrid soft shell case .
Fender reserves binding for the high end stuff like Ultras and MIJ imports. So that's what you are seeing that you secretly love and you arent sure why.
Plus roadworns are generally the easiest guitar to buy new. ZERO worries is theres an extra scratch or ding from shipping/delivery/ b-stock/previously played/previously owned. You will never know. Roadworns are pretty much the only kinda guitar I'll buy on a scratch-n-dent site like musiciansfriend.

Now I'm wanting this Alex Lifeson guitar! Do you have a link?!
They came and went fast! People were buying @ $899 and reselling for up to $2000 !! Then it dropped some. Last one I saw for sale on Craigslist sold for $1400. It's a great guitar and compared to his signature LesPaul Custom at $8000 a bargain. Here's a link to a review of it.

Why not buy with blank head stock (or sand it) and put your own signature, logo, name or saying there?
You do not have to be a fan of maintaining your own guitar; but it's half the fun and it's every time, with each guitar, always need something repeatedly. It saves time more than it saves money and it makes for the most play-ability, customized to YOU. And that's what encourages more practice; not paying too much. You are either going to practice or you are not. No matter what else you do. Practice is independent from high cost or even whether you pay others to fix your guitar. Self discipline can't be bought or forced. It's up to you. Personal responsibility, delayed gratification, perseverance and faith. All traits from which any age might greatly benefit. You decide, or you did. And have fun with it, always.
