Oh and Most rendering programs use your graphic card processor more than your CPU, so don't worry about getting more cores with the 5950X

It still looks like a 5800X3D is still a decent value. A 5600 is a good step up, but the X3D still is comparable to recent gen CPUs with newer games using more CPU power even at higher resolutions. I wouldn't go with AM5 right now, but faster RAM speeds are also becoming more important.

I want something that will last 10 years. My current desktop is 10 years old. Rendering video is too slow.
most who buy the 5800x3d are people who already have been on AM4 for years and are just looking for a cheap upgrade to keep performance high in gaming for a few more years until without having to shell out cash for a new motherboard, ram, and cpu. AM5 motherboards and ddr5 ram will also be cheaper by the AM4 5800x3d people feel the need to upgrade. That's really why this chip is so popular.

The reason this CPU is an "upgrade" is because of the dramatically increased cache (96 MB vs 32 MB). You will not see any performance improvements in day to day tasks, and some games won't even benefit. However, if they do, it's usually a noticeable improvement. Personally, I saw noticeably higher (and smoother) framerates in many AAA games, like Cyberpunk, CoD MW 2019/Cold War, etc.
My point is, it's the best AM4 CPU you can get for mixed usage that includes gaming. But it's not an upgrade for productivity tasks, because it's a teensy bit slower in terms of clock speeds than the 5800X. If you're not putting this in a gaming computer, save your money. Otherwise, upgrade to it if you can.
TL;DR -- If you're coming from 3000 series or older, it's a GIANT upgrade. If you're coming from 5600X, it's still a noticeable upgrade. If you're coming from 5800X, it's a slightly upgrade, but only for gaming.
