It's usually $55 full price on the Ambernic site, resellers sometimes import it from China and ship it from the US for a premium. $44 after tax seems like a good deal if it's the same product and arrives in one piece.
This is one of the better newer options if you want to play anything from PS1 or earlier. The battery and screen are really good and there's an aftermarket OS called Garlic that adds a lot of functionality and fixes the bad stock OS.
The main competitor is the Miyoo mini plus, but that's still hard to find in stock. This deal matches the purple gameboy color better than the miyoo.

I hate 3DS emulation on these types of devices, btw. No handheld can really capture the feel of the original hardware well enough for me.
e.g. new iphone models come out annually in the US, but oneplus updates their models every 6 months. Same with all the DJI drones. They make new models every 6 months to stay ahead of all the clones of their newest products
Was surprised I got it let alone this quick, after having dealt with Wish.
Prior to this little device, I retro-game on my android phone with a $40 type-c controller. That setup, like the SD, is a bit more tiresome to hold after a couple of hours. The 35xx is more comfortable to use! However, on my phone, I can run GC, Wii, and even some Switch games, while the 35xx is limited to PS1 games (and quite a few won't run well, if at all).
Will try garlic but the stock OS isn't bad at all
This is an outstanding little console for $30 or so

Different question how do you load games for this device? Can I just drag rom files to the sd card from my PC?

I must say this is the best system out of the box.
The Miyoo mini plus stock couldn't play DKC 1 or 2 on the SNES. It was a slowpoke until I installed OnionOS
The RG35XX worked out of the box. I haven't installed Garlic OS.
All the CPS games worked too while the Miyoo Mini Plus still doesn't run half of the CPS1 games.
I know I have to tinker with it, but for someone who wants out of the box experience , the RG35XX is the best bet

1. Both devices are capable of emulating a variety of classic video game consoles, including systems like the NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Sega Genesis.
2. Both devices have built-in speakers and a headphone jack for audio output.
3. Both devices use a similar control scheme, with a D-pad, four face buttons, and two shoulder buttons.
4. Both devices use a Linux-based operating system, which means that users can install custom firmware or OS to modify their functionality.
Differences:
1. [CPU] Miyoo Mini Plus: Cortex-A7. Anbernic RG35XX: Cortex-A9.
(Cortex-A9 and Cortex-A7 are almost the same. Both are Armv7-A processors. Because Cortex-A7 is the successor of the Cortex-A9, its power efficiency became increased and has some extentions such as hardware division instruction, Large Physical Address Extensions (LPAE) and so on.)
2. The Miyoo Mini Plus has 128MB of RAM, while the Anbernic RG35XX has 256MB of RAM.
3. The Miyoo Mini Plus has a 3000mAh battery, while the Anbernic RG35XX has a 2100mAh battery.
4. The Miyoo Mini Plus uses a USB-C port for charging and data transfer, while the Anbernic RG35XX uses a micro-USB port.
5. Wi-Fi: Miyoo Mini Plus-Yes, RG35XX-No.
6. HDMI: Miyoo Mini Plus-No, RG35XX-Yes.
7. Custom OS: RG35XX-GarlicOS, Miyoo Mini Plus-OnionOS.
I was tempted to buy the rg35xx but I already have a miyoo mini +
