I received my 6a from Metro and can confirm that it won't work with TMobile sim out of the box. I've tested with my T-Mobile sim card and couldn't get services.

I would eat the additional net $10 to avoid all that crap and get a new number. No AF, $20 cheaper plan. Authorized dealers are 90% scammers.

So I have both A54 and S21FE. I just played with both more today and must say, if not considering battery, s21FE is just better in almost every aspect. Thinner bazels, more responsive fingerprint sensor, better/juicer colors and viewing angles, better camera, mega super-duper stereo speakers (A54 also has good ones but s21 has better ones). I had Pixel7 and honestly, I hated the screen. Had terrible headaches just from staring at P7, so I assume with P6a it would be the same (if not worse). Therefore, if you have extra $50 and want some decent camera and overall smooth experience go with s21fe, but if battery really meters go with a54. However, if you just want the cheapest option and like making photos, go with P6a. Just my 2 cents

Yes. Compare apples to apples. Metro is prepaid and so I'm using AT&T Prepaid as the basis here. If you are talking a postpaid line then sure that is the better deal but probably not what the typical person considering Metro has in mind to begin with.
I don't see any prepaid offerings on BB dot com. And I still haven't learned here when these AT&T handsets can be unlocked. As it stands, the Metro thing is a sure deal.

Where are we getting numbers to port out from now? I remember ebay was good but it's been a while.

AT&T Prepaid handsets are a full year (12 months paid service) and you cannot pay just one month and toss in drawer like Metro. Postpaid ones from AT&T follow standard 60 day unlock policy.

The ATT deal was postpaid and it sold out quickly.
If you are wanting a phone to keep and make actual phone calls wherever and whenever, the ATT deal is a better deal imho.
If you're going somewhere after 180 days anyway, then this is the better deal once phone is unlocked. Again, imho.

Please bear with me on asking this question.

Can I unlock the phone while I am in overseas? I know while I click on device unlock, Metro unlocks it after 180 days of activation. During does device need to be in USA?

That's awesome… so what exactly is the unlocking process? Do you have to go into settings and manually do something, or does it just one day shows a pop up or notification saying it's been 180 days and your device is now unlocked? Thanks!
For S21 FE , network unlock option is under settings --> Connection --> More Connection setting --> Network Unlock

For Oneplus , its under settings --> About Phone --> Network Unlock

Yup. And yup.
No, you don't need to call them to unlock your phone. You just go to device unlock after 6 months and unlock it.

Ok, so just double checking.

I can just buy a new number and pay the 40$ 1 month fee.
49.99 for the phone.
Plus whatever tax.

And after a month, I don't pay anything, and after 6 months I can just call them and get it unlocked? Basically, an unlocked phone is costing me around 100$?
No need to call.

Metro In store only kills the deal.

Metro sales people are worse than worst Realtors and Carsales combined

Will 'bring your own number' mandatorily need a visit to the store or it can show the option to order online as well intermittently?

Only in store and they'll charge you extra for things they decide to add on + activation. People are saying corporate stores, but they have been all taken over by dealers.

This. There are no more corporate stores. One auth stealer asked me for my last three month port in number's bill. I said GFY and said thanks no thanks ! Morons!
