I received my 6a from Metro and can confirm that it won't work with TMobile sim out of the box. I've tested with my T-Mobile sim card and couldn't get services.

I would eat the additional net $10 to avoid all that crap and get a new number. No AF, $20 cheaper plan. Authorized dealers are 90% scammers.

So I have both A54 and S21FE. I just played with both more today and must say, if not considering battery, s21FE is just better in almost every aspect. Thinner bazels, more responsive fingerprint sensor, better/juicer colors and viewing angles, better camera, mega super-duper stereo speakers (A54 also has good ones but s21 has better ones). I had Pixel7 and honestly, I hated the screen. Had terrible headaches just from staring at P7, so I assume with P6a it would be the same (if not worse). Therefore, if you have extra $50 and want some decent camera and overall smooth experience go with s21fe, but if battery really meters go with a54. However, if you just want the cheapest option and like making photos, go with P6a. Just my 2 cents

Answers to FAQ:

2. Phones are locked to Metro ONLY for first 180 days and chances are slim to none that you can get them unlocked before 180 days to use on other carriers.
a. Some exceptions: A few phones will work on TM from Day 1 {keep reading below}

I'm curious, as the Wiki alludes to (which I copied/pasted above), has anyone bought one of these MetroPCS Pixel 6a phones and tried to use a T-Mobile SIM card in it, right out of the box? If so, did the T-Mobile SIM card work in it, right away?

If no one has tried this, yet, if someone buys this phone, and has active T-Mobile service, if you could test out your T-Mobile SIM card in this Pixel 6a and see if it works with T-Mobile, directly out of the box, a response would be very much appreciated.
It seems there are some unlock service for metro on eBay which is around $80. If you would like to pay $80, maybe you can get it unlocked before 180 days, but then that almost double the cost of the phone...

I'll let you know. I should have mine in a couple of days.
Sounds good. That would be great, to get some direct feedback from someone, who can test it out, with a physical T-Mobile SIM card.

This may or may not help 6a folks (I also have a 6a on order) but despite the community wiki saying that N200 with IMEI starting with xx0018 will NOT work with TMO sim, my recently received N200 works fine. Here are the steps I took, which were not all on purpose.
1. Put the unactivated TMO sim that was in the N200 box in the phone (assumed Metro used TMO sim since it was in the N200 box). No service.
2. Put the activated Metro SIM hidden in the shipping box in the phone. Metro service working
3. Sent a few txt and made a few calls
4. Put my activated TMO sim from my old phone in the N200. TMO service working.
5. Installed at least 3 OS updates

I should be getting mine tonight but just out of curiosity if I order a second phone would I be able to trade in both phones for one phone down the road (iphone, pixel 8, etc...)?

I've never seen a trade in accept 2 phones for 1.
You can always attempt to flip/sell the phone for $.

With most companies (Google Fi, Samsung, etc) it's one trade-in phone for one purchased phone.

I've never seen an offer to trade in multiple phones for one. In other words, there's a snowball's chance in hell.

Samsung did allow multiple trade-in phones towards one purchase, though not often.
